That's not nice "moron" is not really a bad word anyways, it just describes someone in a bad way. there's also the issue that I can't put Kassel anywhere because, well... you know why. can we get this fixed or polished up?
Yeah but it's about as benign as idiot, or stupid. It's not a word that should be filtered in any way shape or form.
have noticed something like that myself, not allowed to have 'first class' because of the last 3 letters
same thought, already did that, looks okay actually, but still bad for all the other words like Kassel, class etc.
Hey, you can't even have a scenario a British "Class" or a "Passenger" train since both contain a different word for a donkey.
Indeed. This nonsense even effects the search engines. I've complained about the "search" functionality here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...on-is-either-broken-or-simply-hopeless.74775/
I wouldn't say completely remove it, you should censor some actual swear words in file names. But censoring words that contain ass in them is just ridiculous.
You could still name it " Salamander Transportations " I mean " Moron " makes it almost obvious to get catched by a AI filter.
DTG JD DTG Alex If, indeed, this is the reason for the search engine not accepting the word 'class' it should be tweaked. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...on-is-either-broken-or-simply-hopeless.74775/ The word 'class' has nothing to do with the word 'ass', unless one might be talking about 'high class ass'. That Dovetail's search engine in TSW4 blocks basic and commonly accepted words used in the English language is unacceptable nonsense. It makes the search function a complete joke. Furthermore, it shows that the company has no idea about how search engines should actually work. It smacks of total amateurism at the development level. A train simulator search engine that blocks the use of the word 'class'. You couldn't make it up! Maybe the TSW4 in-game over enthusiastic AI word blocker needs to be shoved up its own proverbial axx.
Here's a worse one, "wife" is prohibited over at EA, so I couldn't use my username over there, "widow" (and "moron", as I've seen people with that nickname) was fine though so I settled with "ProhibitedWidow" or something like that.
True, but still, he managed to create an account with that username and hasn't been suspended. Surely you should be able to use the same word for a livery or whatever it was if you can have it as an username on the forums.
I think they just a 3rd party plugin for such bad word filter tasks. Its just a matter of configuration.
I agree. Unfortunately, it could simply be that Dovetail can't be bothered or isn't capable of configuring it properly. A bit like many other problems we're seeing in TSW4. Already going on about rolling out new routes, etc. when several of the existing ones in TSW4 have problems and bugs. A case of 'follow the money' rather than getting things sorted. Such shoddy workmanship is a bad reflection on Dovetail and an insult to paying customers.
penistone actually could come to the game someday. since its on the old woodhead line and i wouldn't be shocked if dovetail made it. short and iconic.
us casually saying the most absurd words hidden in location names infront of the moderators chilling :skull:
This has been an ongoing issue since Creators Club and the first scenario editor arrived on the scene. Need to sort it out and apply some common sense especially now we have a route editor (when it eventually works in a useable and meaningful manner) where you could place billboards and all sorts of custom objects with genuine obscenities or offensive messages on them. "Class" in particular is used with various meanings on just about every English speaking railway system, whether to distinguish train priority, standard of passenger accommodation or in the US whether it is a major or minor railroad.
The funny thing about this is that there are many places in the UK that have profanity in their name. Scratchy Bottom is one that comes to mind.
Good to know that an issue that was plaguing the previous game has not been fixed. Why am I not suprised
You gotta love these automatic profanity filters I once got banned from Github, becasue I made a wiki post that was talking about race a lot, including which properties are important to watch in a race... The repo was a timing/telemetry app for Racing Simulators
Looking at the first post, in modern Britain, it could be the word Trans. It's not specific enough. If my young daughters eating habits are anything to go by, she may end up "Identifying" as a "Custard Creme"
THAT'S why Sam "DTG Protagonist" is not here anymore: Saying "Transport Feve....Train Sim World" too often in the streams Good one.
I get the need for the filter for some really crazy examples I won’t list, as it would save time In removing content from CC, or appearing to allow such content in designer tools. but ‘pool’ assuming the block is on the word without the ‘l’ is quite ridiculous to be considered profanity needing banned.
