I definitely think we should have a 9F. But that would be SoS and PFR because Evening Star would have worked on the South West on routes like the SDJR until Preservation. Evening Star remained in operation into the 1980s and is one of nine surviving 9Fs. From July 1973 it operated on the KWVR, moving to the NRM, York in May 1975. In 1986 it was loaned to the NYMR and in 1989 to the WSR .Since withdrawal, it has been a static exhibit at the National Railway Museum. If I was DTG I would place the 9Fs in a pack with another BR standard I would recommend a BR standard 5 or a 'Britannia'. If they were generous they could also add the Crosti boiler.
