Since it is close to the holidays. They should make the Polar Express. (The one based on the movie would be cool). Kind of like the one route they did with the F7 as a model train route would be cool to see. The real one would be better.

We could get Pere Marquette Berkshire #1225, though. She is used in excursion service, and was the basis for the engine in the book and movie.

I could see maybe a Christmas themed model railway round the living room, but as noted Polar Express like Thomas, Ivor and all the rest - bound up by licensing and other considerations.

And as much as I enjoy the movie every couple of years, trains that climb and descend 1 in 2 gradients, skate across ice etc. don’t really belong in a pseudo serious simulation.

I'd buy it but yes, getting a licence from WB would be a pain

Did the train it’s based on ever run anything reasonable length and frequency for TSW ? Might be quite a good idea to bring out such a route and train at the festive time of the year :)

I think it would be best for TSW to finally get an American Steam route which included a locomotive class like the N1 Berkshire or the N&W J Class 4-8-4.
Personally, I think DTG needs to start including other countries' steam locomotives mainly the US and Germany

Yea other countries should aswell, I always wanted to see the big boy/challenger appear on Sherman hill (despite the time era)

Hopefully they will put time into getting steam out of its beta phase aswell.

Would probably not be worth DTGs time to do the research.

1st they would need to visit the US to get references for PM 1225, but it's not running ATM so now you run into problems with sounds.

2nd would be that DTG would need to research the Era in which the Pere Marquette N1s ran, which was a very short period in the 40s. And doing research on the Pere Marquette routes, which may not be worth their time for the return.

3rd, DTG would need to make period accurate stock for it. The Clinchfield stuff is too new for it.
