All started with a night scenario with the BR110 I made for the Ruhr-Sieg route. First I thought that PZB and SIFA didn’t work because the display lights were not illuminated. But after a “Zwangsbremsung” I realised that PZB and SIFA work but not the display !

When I set the time to daylight, the display worked fine again.

So I made a test scenario at night for all German routes except Hamburg-Lübeck which I don’t own (yet).

The bug occured on these routes only:

    Ruhr Sieg North
    Main Spessart
    Rapid Transit Leipzig
    München-Augsburg
    Rhein-Ruhr
    HST Köln
    Rhein Ruhr East
    Tharandter Rampe Dresden-Chemnitz

During these test I discovered that the display DID work, but even when I set the brightness to 100% with the switch right of the display, the lights were barely visible in the dark and not at all when in a bright station.

    Normal:
    Vorarlberg 30 per cent.jpg

    Bug:
    Main Spessard100 per cent.jpg

To verify if this is a TSW4 bug only, I reinstalled TSW3 and tested there, with the same result !
I have already submitted a ticket for this.

The 110 is a loco made for the ToD4 (TSW3+) lighting system. The routes you mentioned are all old ToD3 (TSW/2020/2) routes.

Lighting is incompatible, you can either make a loco having correct lights on ToD3 or ToD4, not both.

Though it's possible to increase the max intensity of the indicators.

Thanks for the explanation! To verify this I tried to use the new TSW4 ÖBB 4024 on Rhein Sieg North, with the same lighting error.
At least I now know which locos I can't use on the old routes.
