I've spent alot of money on TSW.
    Every DLC
    Every Add On.
And it still crashed and it's still bugged.
DTG hit out the park with TSW3 that was perfect now 4 is here its back to TSW2 with all the problems that had.

aye off topic but did you really want every single DLC there is? just a reminder that the content is there so you choose what you like, not buy everything. but to your question, I never experienced a crash before honestly. but that's probably because I'm on PC and not on X-Box. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think some of the crashes are related to how much dlc you have installed. If you're on an older X box some of the crashes you might be experiencing are ‘out of memory’ crashes, if not them them it might be something else.

On another note why do you have every dlc? I mean, it’s absolutely fine if you know you’ll enjoy all of them and/or it's for achievements etc.

I've got the series S. I like all the routes and different trains.

All I can say is, if you keep buying every garbage release they push out, they are going to continue releasing garbage. They have no pressure to do better if you keep buying anyway.

You do know you don't have to buy everything, right? That's probably what's causing the issue if you have it installed as the game can't support all add ons (for some reason).

I’m surprised by all the “you don’t have to buy all the DLC” comments. Of course we don’t have to buy it, but why wouldn’t you want it? I have most of the DLC and there isn’t a single route or loco that I don’t enjoy using to some extent. Sure, some I like better than others, but it’s great having the variety and options. Surely the question is “Why wouldn’t you want all the DLC?” if you can afford it?

The question is more like why would I want it? If I am not interested in british train for example, then why the hell would I want to buy it?

My advice is, learn some self control and try to be more responsible with your money. Simply throwing money at everything just because you can afford it is a great way to get scammed.

That’s hilarious! Thanks for the tips but [EDIT - Jan - Antagonistic] on videogame forums - THAT’S how you get scammed!

I can comfortably afford the DLC and like to have as much choice of what to play as possible. By all means arbitrarily close your mind to trains and routes from one country or another but don’t act like that’s normal or rational.

I can afford the dlc, but I don’t buy it all. It wouldn’t cost me that much actually to fully complete the collection compared to all of it tbh.

I don’t buy it all, as I won’t use it all, I’ve already over bought a lot of it (probably about 80% ish, it’s about 63 addons on manage addons on Xbox storage) some routes I haven’t been on in a year or more. There’s not enough time in a day to go round it all.

most single services take about an hour, so 1 or 2 a day is about as much as I go, rare days like at release i may do 3-4 but not more. I also don’t really have a proper rotation for using the content so some routes get a lot more use than others etc.

other than that people may have no interest in a certain route or loco, or bad bugs put them off, so why would they purchase what they will never use ?

That's really very patronizing. Just because someone has most of the dlc's for TSW doesn't mean they're irresponsible spenders. Maybe they just like trains.

I myself have probably 80 plus percent, many bought in sales, and I certainly am one who's careful with money.

Collecting virtual trains is a hobby, like stamp collecting, and it can be expensive. Doesn't make you a spendthrift.

I like trains too, but I don't go buying every DLC that's released just because I can.

In fact, it has been months since I last bought anything, and there's only one upcoming release that interests me. There's still a lot of TSW DLCs I haven't even considered buying.

Where you spend your disposable income should have zero bearing on having an opinion on this game.
If someone wants all the DLC they absolutely have the right to do so, and still have an opinion.
If someone chooses the opposite, also applies.
    What makes the forums interesting.

Look, if someone buys every single releae and add-on of a franchise, then goes on the forums and complains that it's broken, then they are irresponsible spenders. Because they spent a lot of money on something they are not satisfied with.

As I have said many times by now; if you keep buying garbage, they are going to keep offering you garbage. DTG has no reason to increase their quality if you keep purchasing their sub-par products anyway.

I can agree, but at the end of the day, if he wants to buy every DLC just because its there, that's his choice (but anyone with sense wouldn't).

I never said he is not allowed to. I just simply said that in my opinion it is irresponsible, especially when they are admittedly dissatisfied with the quality DTG are offering.

There seem to be a lot of high and mighty attitudes towards what other people do with their money. Many people wouldn't think twice before shelling out £500 for Hornby's model of the Azuma, buying all of the DLC that DTG releases in a year costs quite a bit less than that.

Hey - sorry you're having issues. Can I ask if you could let me know if there are any specific examples of bugs you're experiencing?

We put out a patch that eased some of the crashing issues some Xbox players were having, but the team are looking at a wider solution - particularly for those with lots of Add-ons installed on older Xboxes.

Yes lots of patronising comments and comments almost trying to shame people into not buying stuff because apparently we are all being scammed!

I get that some have issues with TSW4 (I understand some of it) and I get that people have issues with DTG, well actually I don't but clearly some do. But there has been quite a lot of belittling of others recently who have bought into TSW4 which is divisive. It seems some seem to get pleasure in hanging around the forums for a game they clearly have so little opinion of just to rehash the same conversation over and over again. Seems strange to me but they can do what they want.

I own every DLC as TSW is the only game I play and I enjoy it all.

But I have not had crashing problems on my Series X. Maybe because it is all I have installed.

And since the lottery retired me I also am very well off money wise.

People seem to like repeating the same criticisms over and over sometimes. It really gets boring.
It would be like me repeating my comment on why people who hate on this game, on a daily basis are still playing it.

Surely the question should be not "how much does he have installed ,?" but we should be asking "why is the game not capable of being run on a new generation console ?"
Is it too much to ask for something to actually work properly these days ?

Yes, because after many years, the game still keeps having the same problems over and over again. Interesting, isn't it?

I mean, the alternative is that everyone who is disappointed in the franchise just leaves and let's it rot. With no negative and constructive feedback, things are just going to keep getting worse and worse until the franchise flops and eventually vanishes.

Remember that many of the things we have now are because the community kept complaining over and over again. Pre TSW2 content compatibility, Livery Designer for old rolling stock, free Creators Club, volumetric clouds, new New York - Trenton timetable, etc.

The game runs butter smooth for me on my PS5, with the 90% of all content I own. It’s the most polished version to date in fact.

    Absolutely agree!
The perception of value is subjective, and what matters is finding fulfillment in the things we choose to spend our money on. Everyone deserves the freedom to enjoy their hobbies without judgment. After all, it's the joy and satisfaction derived from these pursuits that make them truly worthwhile.

You should be able to install all the dlc you want without problems, but I think that is best done on pc. Personally I have stopped buying German routes unless the rolling stock is another colour than red as I'm finding these routes samey, but I do have all UK routes (except Glossop) and all US routes. Many have been bought in sales though.

Yeah my buying habits have dropped off a cliff, not interested in German stuff because it’s all red & US quality is very meh, although I don’t have to abstain from buying this as they don’t really sell it.

I’m even inclined to just delete all my US & DE stuff to gain some performance & loading speeds.
