I am trying to use together the two CN locos and two CR locos together in order of (CN GP38 - CN GP9 - CR SD40-2 - CR F7). I tried taking power on the GP38 which initially worked on all but the SD40-2, though this never has power even when it is running on its own. I tried to control the four locos from the SD40-2 but after shutting down the brakes fully in the GP38 and setting up the brakes in the SD40-2, the brakes would not release as the F7 was now audibly throwing out all the air. I shut down the F7 but this seems to have caused a fault condition in all four locos, I then restarted each loco only for the starter fuses to go on both the GP9 and SD40-2 (as per the diagnostics warning on the GP9 fuse panel). I managed to restart the leading GP38 as well as the F7 but now only the power applied to the leading GP38 as the GP9 had no start along with the SD40-2. and the F7 was just idling and not responding to the throttle on the GP38. Unfortunately by this time I changed cabs so much that trying to set my destination caused the game to crash. Are the CR locos supposed to be compatible with the CN locos as they are both EMD but seem to have different control systems? I have tried to find more information on the Clinchfield SD40-2 as along with the GE locos, I have never managed to get them to work properly outside of tutorial scenarios where they are already running. I tried asking for information on these but I always get the same response as they seem to have everything kept secret. How do I get these to run?
If you are using free roam, the following locos dont work at the moment... CSX Gp38-2 CSX SD40-2 UP SD40-2 Cane Creek CRR SD40 CSX SD40
Oh, that will be why. Thanks for letting me know about that issue with these locos. I am also unable to get the SD70ACe working as both screens are black, is this the same problem? I have never managed to get the SD70 to work due to run modes and was going to see if it worked when paired with another loco but now the screens are not working.
How are you supposed to setup the F7 in trailing function? If I set the brake to cut out it applies the brake but if I cut it in and put in release I cannot apply the brake from the front loco.
Another loco not working is the MP15, the orange light comes on as soon as you key in and there is no power. Same startup procedure done as with everything else and it's only the MP38, GP38 and GP9 that actually seem to properly work. I tried multiple reset combinations and it is the same every single time. I can't get anywhere finding how to set these as information on EMD and GE is restricted.
The lone UP option has both the Cane Creek and Sherman Hill ones mixed into the options, so you have to know which formation is from Cane Creek, and which is from Sherman Hill.
They work when ran normally in Timetable or scenerio mode, they just dont work in free roam, it was the same issue in Godmode with TSW3 as well AFAIK.
Why would these engines be messed up in free roam but not other modes lack of testing, wait did i just anwser my own question?
Yeah, I’m having the same issue with the SD70 also, been trying to get it to work, but nothing is happening. Hopefully an update happens so we can get the unusable locos to work.
The SD70 works for me in free roam. Like someone says before, reset the fuse. Than the screen works. But it's very dark. When you zoom in you can see a bit . Then go to more options and make the screen brighter. You have to do it for both screens . Now you can set the break to cut in and the loco to lead. So the only problem is that the screens are set to dark. Maybe someone from dtg read this. So, before you break the loco completely with a Patch , just set the screens from 15 back to 100 percent. I'm on xbox series x
We have an update coming for trains not spawning correctly in free roam, not sure when as I believe it's still in progress but it's getting there at least - the problem is with all the wildly different ways trains have been developed over the years they (for some reason) aren't all initialising in quite the same way so some events aren't firing or are firing but nobody';s listening in time etc. All being sorted at the moment though will give an update when I have one. Matt.
Is the DRA 363 on your radar for that? In free roam, it spawns with its air compressor disabled. Turning the compressor fuse in the cab off and on again fixes it.
One sign that the spawned in loco may be broken is seconds after you sit down in the cab the loco will start rolling forwards as if it has no brakes.
I notice the SW15 now seems to only semi work anything more then a single car and it struggles to move alot.It also difficult to use with helper locomotives if your useing it as your control cab.It clearly needs some work but i'm not sure where or how much.
