I guess the next german route is SFS Köln Rhein Main from Köln to Frankfurt Airport. We german Fans waiting for ICE 4( BR412 and this is good route for this train with speed to 300km/ h .This Roller coaster railway with 40 Promills (4,0%) near Montabaur with many Tunnels. This is only my Suggestion.
I think this is unlikely, as it would not follow the usual choice for a DTG route. It would be rather unvaried, in my eyes, as it would only offer high speed traffic, no cargo or commuter services. Also, the BR412 would not be the natural choice for this route. Even though it runs there, it’s max speed is 265kph, while the route allows for 300kph…
If this is intended as a suggestion then it really belongs in the Suggestion forum. But I agree with the earlier sentiments - there is enough high speed in TSW. I would prefer to see a classic Inter City route in the 80’s or 90’s or maybe a long secondary line such as the Obereruhrtalbahn.
This route has commuter Service from Köln Hbf to Siegburg and fright from Köln Kalk Nord.On this route are too ICE 4 since year 2018.This route has 7 ICE lines. For big summer we we have must big route 100km+.
So we basically shall eliminate all our dreams for a longer route only meant for high speed? That's sad.
Recently in Matts Stream, he talked about Cologne-Frankfurt and the biggest problem about this route is Frankfurt HBF, since it is the biggest station in Germany and would eat up a lot if performance. Also a route only to Frankfurt Airport would be difficult, since this route has a lot of stations along to create. He didn't say, creating this route won't happen, but we'll probably need to wait, until performance gets better
Or until 2040 when the new underground station and the tunnels under the city open in Frankfurt, so they don't have to model the entire huge surface level train station
Maybe a 3rd party creator might create this route in the near future, so I thing Cologne Frankfurt will be a thing in the next 5 years
I ever wondered my Frankfurt Hbf is not in TSW. Yes, that makes sense regarding the performance. I thought about this could be an issue, but now we have proof of it. But I think.... is also true for the whole S-Bahn system of Frankfurt with a lot of stations and a huge variety of regional but also national and even international connections, aside of the serive of the airport branch. So creating any route for Frankfurt seems to be a huge challenge, not only for the performance but also for creating a authentic timetable. But just like any other of the big city stations , they could however shrink the amount of AI services, just to a decent amount of connections which do work good with the performance.
That's true, but don't worry, I think that DTG is working on ways to make performance much better, so that stations like Frankfurt shouldn't be a big deal
Matt said, that also only doing this route until Frankfurt Airport would still mean, that a lot of stations would need to be created, that take part along the route, but I don't really know what the real problem is. I do still hope, that this route will be a thing in the near future will all stations that are connected to rhis route including Frankfurt HBF
MoRoN222 actually has the same route but as more detailed suggestion available here. For Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Rhein/Main it has 7 stations only, but when I look at the Wikipedia page of the route there are a few small stations, which the train just passes through. I guess this is what he meant, however I don't think that is a real issue, too. What I would say is that the varied countryside containing a lot of bridges, crossovers, small stations paired with the metropole environment of Frankfurt and Köln probably could be the issue. Too much variation and details for one route. That I think is the challenge, DTG prevents from creating this route. BTW do you remember in which stream he stated that? I would be interested to listen to it again in case you do know.
He talked about this at this stream: https://www.youtube.com/live/8T-zATL3y_M?si=vbFfsLxptDV-DrDr, commenting on my question about Cologne Frankfurt at around 9:26:30
it would be nice if we got a longer route that has potentially more than one change between PZB and LZB and back and forth
This is what makes this route so interesting. I think it would do great on TSW... but only at full length.
one of like super-cool things is entering a big/huge station, or going out of it, or bypassing it even... like, you have to slow down, then dispatcher sends you through a web of switches... or the approach or start at one of those... and then making your way through some of the city to go out... like... when I travel to and from Vienna... I like all routes (Bratislava - Kittsee or Marchegg - Vienna, but also Wolfsthal - Vienna)... e.g. going from Marchegg... as you see the construction cranes near Hausfeldstrasse from the distance, you know Aspern Nord is near (a bit nicer than usual regio station)... then passing several S-Bahn stations, watching the city unfold... getting to huge junction that is Stadlau... then crossing the bridge over Danube... seeing Prater Park, then Gasometer, before stopping at Simmering... and then just a bit and the huge Hbf opens up... I mean, Munich and Koln S-Bahn in-game is nice, but I kinda want more?
