I've got to say I'm loving the free roam on this game, I've been hoping for something like this for ages and DTG finally delivered, Anyway what I like doing is creating large scenarios using the whole map spawning stock all over the map and moving it all around using a couple of trusty 66s, Now obviously this can take some time so I use the save feature to come back the next day and continue, Unfortunately game time marches on and before you know it night time is drawing in and playing this game in darkness is really difficult, Is there any way to fast forward time or even freeze time so it stays at midday for example, If not then could DTG look into implementing this in a future update, please !
That might help a bit actually but ideally I think there should be a means to change or freeze the time of day at any time during play in the settings, I would have thought that would be possible in free roam. Thanks for trying to come up with a sensible solution all the same
The only workaround I can think of is to leave the game running through the hours of darkness and resume playing once it gets light again. That would be the shortest with the date set to 21st June but it would still mean leaving the game running for six or seven hours after every 17 or 18 hours of playing. I’m assuming Free Roam wraps around and doesn’t de-spawn everything at midnight. A dedicated frozen time setting or time skip feature would be helpful, as I don’t like the sound of my workaround.
Yes, this is what I have been doing, putting on a dvd or something and leave the game running in the background for most of the day, The only drawback with that is that I'm running the game on a PS4 Pro so it depends on what mood the console is in whether or not it goes into jet fighter mode
So, I just jumped into a night service on the Voralberg route and didn't have any trouble reading the signs from a few meters even in a snow storm (including a dead section). The only real difficulty is that you don't see the signs you were warned about so you have to anticipate and get a feel for how far they should be, which takes a bit of practice. Also the high-beams are actually blinding so I was driving the whole way with markers instead.
You are driving with markers in real life, high beams only in special conditions (PZB defect, driving on sight @50 km/h, for example)
That's nice, I'm happy for you, obviously I don't eat as much carrots as you, It doesn't really help me if I'm shunting about in yards, My original question was really in a vein hope that DTG would consider adding that as a feature on some future update, thanks for your invaluable input none the less
It works in TSC by manipulating the ToD files, there's a TimeScale debugging value which will freeze the world time (Earth rotation) when set to zero whilst allowing sim time to run normally. This is used to check your ToD files by speeding up time to see how sunrise, sunsets and all the nine different time of day lightings look quickly. Atm the best thing to do would be to start your Freeroam early in the morning on June 21st.
No updates yet i'm afraid. I have it on a list but not sure when/if it'll make it in to a build. Matt.
