Forgive me if this has already been asked, but I just drove a night time scenario in the 4024, and even though my headlights were on, there was absolutely zero forward projection which left me driving in the pitch dark. I had got used to finally having some headlights in Dresden-Riesa and then this???
There is a switch somewhere on the right side of the drivers desk. If you want to see something you need to turn it on max. Its not very bright, but you can see the tracks without problems
You also might know/notice that the lights on the 4024 are behind some sort of a fence what shades/block the light a lot. In the first place, headlights on these trains are signals and not lights to lit up something in front. Especially on the older trains, and the 4024 is one older train (before the LED era) the lamp sockets are basically candle-holders. And so the light is just a shine of a candle. The beams can light up about 500m in front but again through the fence. That's not the USA where headlights can light up a whole village. I set up the light on the 4024 and also set up the new lighting on the DRA vehicles for TSW4. So what you have on the 4024 is by purpose to be prototypical. It also uses IES light profiles, so no simple light cones.
Hi Maik, didn’t realised you were involved on this one (I wouldn’t have questioned it if I had ). I have to say that I am loving TSW4, and spend nearly all my time on this route, Niddertahl and Dresden. The new HUD is great and is about as close to Ebula driving that I have seen in Dovetail games. You have nearly torn me away from Zusi
