What's up folks. Today I wanted to talk about the ICE 3M a few people in the forums already talked about, which for some reason is in the Southeastern Highspeed timetable. According to the past discussions we had about it, it would stand at St. Pancras International throughout the whole day, but wait, that's not true! It actually moves in and out of the station. I don't know when it arrives at St. Pancras Intl., but I know when it departs and what stations it passes by and when you can see it where. NOTE: You will only be able to see the ICE 3M when starting in October. Any other month won't work and the ICE 3M will just not be there. 22:38 – ICE 3M departure at St. Pancras Intl. Recommended start time: 22:35 Speed: N/A 22:43 – ICE 3M passes by Stratford Intl. Recommended start time: 22:40 Speed: 230 km/h 22:50 – ICE 3M passes by Ebbsfleet Intl. Recommended start time: 22:45 Speed: 230 km/h 23:02 – ICE 3M passes by Ashford Intl. Recommended start time: 23:00 Speed: 140 km/h Note: the times have been read from when it passes by those stations when starting at 22:35, where the ICE 3M is not in motion yet, which causes more accuracy of the times when the ICE 3M will pass by each station, which also means that the accuracy of the times decreases when starting at the recommended times I put below each place (because the trains will spawn motionless on the tracks, and they need to accelerate first), so expect the ICE 3M to have a delay of roughly 1-3 minutes. I figured out that you could also play the Javelin service 1J72 to see it pass by you. when stopping at Stratford Intl., the ICE 3M will howl past you at 230 km/h after roughly half a minute after your stop.
I appreciate the little guide here! Seeing the ICE at Stratford is especially cool because it’ll be overtaking a Javelin. And let’s just say I was pretty lucky with the one I got…
and I managed to trick the timetable by departing way ahead of my schedule ending up blocking the ICE 3 so that the ICE had to stop and I got to go first, lmao
For a bit of nostalgia here is the BBC news article from the day. German rail firm DB competes for Channel Tunnel routes - BBC News and CNN Video
Thanks for the detailed timings, and to the others for sharing the images and videos! I’ve seen it once on the platform at St. Pancras already, but now I’ll definitely check it out in motion, too! I’m assuming you could hop onto the ICE before it departs St. Pancras and enjoy a nice first class cruise out of London!
made a better guide, now includes times for the ICE 3M's journey from DE to UK arriving at St. Pancras Intl. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/extended-guide-ice-3m-on-southeastern-highspeed.75462/
