A classic dating back to the 1970s, the DB BR 155, is coming very soon to Train Sim World for heavy freight-hauling action through the valleys of rural Germany!

We are on a 'roll' with releases!
Can't wait to get my hands on this one to add to the growing collection.

Especially great that it is both usable on RSN aswell as MSB :)

Have we ditched the rest of the world altogether now just for German content? Getting bored of the same constant 3 countries.

Yup, they ARE releasing the 155 next then.

I've been slightly tired of all these "why are you putting Germany before other countries" complaints because they were completely untrue- there was always just as much German content as there was British content, with US content lagging behind slightly. Now, with 2 German loco DLC in a row, these complaints make a bit more sense.

Ok, I know I just posted here, but hang on a second. Sure, this is a bit heavy on German content, BUT this loco looks absolutely amazing. I will definitely be buying this (when it goes on sale, along with the BR 182). I mean, just look at that cab!

Also, it appears I was right about the coal cars.

Perhaps the German market is the most lucrative? We don't know. I'm still happy about the BR155, even though there is still a German diesel locomotive missing (for MSB).

Looks great happy to see the more steady release of more content into the game. Will be getting this once released.

I personally wont be getting this immediately but its great that more releases are coming. For those moaning about German content technically german content is only one dlc ahead of Uk and 3 ahead of American (therefore i expect american things next). Furthermore trains are more transferable across routes on the German routes so makes sense to make trains that are more useful and attractive to buyers, rather than like the 33 which is only useful on WSR. Finally all german trains are a lot more similar in terms of design etc so they are quicker to produce compared to UK and American trains which most likely are built from scratch each time

So, the official announcement is out. Great!
These Falns coal hoppers are really nice, do they have universal use for both routes (RSN+MSB)?
Can we expect friegth services for Taurus alongside DB 155 release?
Time to update compatibility table ;)

Great! Yes a Diesel Locomotive would have make more sense, but since this Locomotive is ready why holding it back?
I think they have even more things in the Pipeline!
It's a real Pleasure and makes the TSW World even more Beautiful...

    Thanks :)

They need to be able to get enough reference material to make one. Or access a real one if possible.

You could also take the Claas 66 from GWR for a start, it also drives in Germany among others.

It’s not exactly the same class 66 from the UK. The cab is slightly modified to fit with German standards and PZB.

“Class 66” is the British name of the EMD 66. The British version has different systems like AWS, not PZB.
But if DTG modify his systems to German Versions, it would be a great “non-electric train”.

You'll be able to use the the 185.2 (either variant) and the 182 to haul the coal trains in addition to the 155. I think i've got that right anyway :) Say it with me "I love substitution" :)

There’s no chance of this happening anytime soon as the current wires are there just as ‘scenery’, so the game just see’s the route as a diesel route. This was before electrification was added to TSW.

Also the time the route was set, there were no 387s or 800s running on it and they won’t update the route to current standards as it goes against the product description. Plus it’ll need various signals, junctions and stations changing, which takes a lot of time.

The only chance we’ll see electric trains on UK routes in the game is a newly built one, rather than converting a current one we already have in TSW.

Actually, looking at this now, sure, Germany is ahead in terms of individual DLC released, but n terms of locomotives offered, it's only now brought up to where the UK is, which makes these multiple loco DLC completely understandable. Rapid Transit only had one loco, RSN had the full pack but MSB only had one completely new locomotive, really- and it was barely new. Both the US and UK have had loco DLC before, while up until the 182 was released Germany had none. So really, these multiple loco DLC's are just catching Germany up with the UK in terms of rolling stock.

(I assume this means that the US will get a small boost in DLC now- it would need one new loco to catch up to the UK and DE set of locos, but remember, it IS the start of a new cycle, so there would have to be new locomotives anyway, adding to all 3 countries numbers. So I think there will be more than one new US loco, maybe in the form of a route with 2 new locos or in the form of an extra loco DLC. But this isn't the baseless speculation thread, what am I doing!)

While I am looking forward to the US route announcement....this does look great. I love the 70's era locos and that cab looks fabulous. I don't usually pick up the loco DLCs at release (I usually wait for a sale)...but I am seriously considering getting this one at launch.

I see regularly people asking for specific DLC, more of this country, more of that country and such.
Even the occasional asking if it is coming to console (yes, TSW content always comes to console, as with BR182 it was within 24 hours on all platforms instead of PC first for a week or two).

Until the editor has been finished up, tested and working there is not much else you can do to just enjoy the content there is and coming.
I myself also want to see more content, but it will take time and just enjoy what there is.

DTG makes mainly DE/UK/US content for TS Classic and those are the biggest markets, so it is logical that they focus on those countries as well in Train Sim World.
I have TS Classic since 2012, so I have much more content there (just missing about 25 DLC for the complete Steam Package that is currently available for EU members, but do have some BNSF content before it was US only content) and much more 3rd party content to keep playing it for years and years to come), which totals to about 550gb of content in my RailWorks folder alone.
Before we see that amount in TSW, it will take at least 10 years or more.

Been with this game (TSW) from the released beta's and then onto the main game.
There have been great improvements in the game if you did the beta, especially in FPS, looks and more.
The game needs to grow on you as there is a different interface and how it handles.
But once you try it and to back to TS Classic you will certainly miss the 3 camera to float around the train.

Of-course there have been some points that aren't up to spec, as almost every loco is shiny with sometimes some weird reflections, but I won't let that take the enjoyment out of it.

As said, can't wait to add it to my collection of TSW content as I do own it all currently.

    Rob Jansen, you’re right!
But if DTG tryed other country’s( for example a Swiss normal gauge route) they would see, that maybe these things are very popular later on. In Ts20.. there is just one Swiss normal gauge route, the SBB Route1(yeah, the Gotthard Route is also available, but you need a lot of other routes to play on it), and when they would try to make a route in a country, that has almost no routes in Ts20.., they could see if it’s worthwhile or not.

And @ Train Sim Matt, are the coal hopper waggons usable on the MSB?

DTG I like how the Game is developing, and you are doing reeaaally Great work!
    THANKS

Unfortunately not - the BR 155 still requires overhead power, which is lacking up to the power station!

    Well alrighty then!

Seem to be rolling them out all platfroms as of late. Im running on pc - I have an xb1x as well so im not knocking it, but could it hamper release dates etc for pc ?

Were they tired of everyone asking in droves when said dlc would be released on said console?

    Curious thats all

more likely locos are easier to release at the same time than routes, so would expect route releases to be staggered

They said very early after the "Full" game launched on Consoles that their plan is to release Content for all 3 Platforms at the same time.
With the Loco DLC lately they are fulfilling there own goal.

I dont think it will affect the PC release date for DLC. If they have something ready for PC and know that it might takes a bit longer to get it to work on Consoles in the way they intend, i´m pretty sure they release what is ready because they need that income.

Ah, i mustve missed that part about sync'd launches.

I could def be a good thing. Release, feedback, bug work, on to the next. Rather than a stepped or layerd process waiting on the tailend

All in all, im looking forward to the 155
