So it isn't possible to edit/extend existing routes due to them being cooked, which I get.
Is it possible to use the 3d models from existing routes? Like a station, say Brighton, or St Pancras?

Funnily enough I was thinking about that too. I would like to use Ryde Pier (or parts of it) if possible.
No idea if (a) that is even possible or (b) does the model split down to smaller component parts that can then be 'rebuilt' in a different form?

So you can use assets providing you own the DLC there on. You cant alter existing routes though only add onto them like scenery stuff.

Yes you can. Just find the meshes under Scenery and drag them in. As for modularity, that's up to the original author.

Quick tip. When you are in a directory with static meshes, hit Ctrl-A to select all and then right-click. This will load all of them and brings up the thumbnails.

I’ve now used loads of assets from several routes in my 3rd rate attempt at recreating part of the Tyne Valley line.
What I’d like to do is modify an asset, such as an existing station or bridge, to bring it closer in appearance to the one it’s a substitute for. Has anyone any tips on how to even get started with this?
I have used Blender a little, however I’m certainly no expert in exporting and importing objects between Blender and UE4.

So Blender can take in and export out FBX and it's the FBX you will import into UE and if your export anything out of UE normally it'll be FBX which as I say you can take into Blender etc.
