It's simply because a simulator (particularly for trains) is a very niche market. No one would buy a train simulator just for the hell of it unlike how one might just buy an FPS.
That's false. I'm not a rail fan. I couldn't tell you the difference between different trains. I bought ts back when it was railworks simply because it was cheap in game. I liked it from the moment I played it because it was different to my usual games. I bought tsw because my pc no longer works and wanted to see the difference between ts and tsw. The prices of dlc are stupidly high, but a lot of other games also have ridiculously high priced dlc Doesn't matter if it is a niche market or not, game developers are just like any other business they need to make money to pay their employees who in turn need their job to pay their living bills. That's why dlc can be so pricey aswell as time spent on a project they need to recoup costs for
It's not a joke because the DLC for a simulator isn't like the DLC for any other kind of game. The base game of TSW is only the controls and interactions, ALL of the routes and consists are separate and this is why you might pay more for individual add ons, because they're essentially "the game" It's like TSW itself is the monopoly board which gives you the outlines, the starting point and the jail; and the DLC add in the road names, the board pieces, set the rules etc etc
buddy that is still ridiculous, people like you are the ones who make it ok for developers/publishers to sell us half finished games and then charge extra cost for the rest of the game. this is not a reason for overpricing, I rather buy a full game which is better in all ways lol it's my opinion respect that but developers and publishers need to be checked when they do things like this. if you want to pay go right ahead. Yes no one is forcing me to buy the "DLC" but it's my right to criticise. Wish you well.
It is indeed your right. And the correct way round to do the pricing is release the core game for free and then only charge for the addons because they are the actual content. Which in essence they do as you can't buy the core without any addons. But yeah, you have your opinion
Rusty Bedsprings anything conductive to say or you are just going to downvote every comment and not even reply to my valid points. you damn well that console gaming has became a cash grab, we are being sold unfinished games and you find this acceptable, please reply I want to see your point then your downvotes.
I reported them to Dmitri and got told that he didn't know if they could or should do anything about it...
opinion or no opinion game developers do what they want to make money, without the dlc prices as they are there would be no train simulator. Massive developers also do this just look at games which charge Ā£55 for the base then Ā£30 for dlc then another pack of stuff for Ā£20 and then another Ā£10 for early access or some rubbish. They have to make money at the end of the day, Whether its right or fair is an entirely different matter
I got 007 on it I do talk about "Massive developers", what makes a good developer/publisher is too listen to their customers/fans. that's the whole point of feedback, so they can change things. developers shouldn't go unchecked, you are the reason why gaming is the way it is. people like you allow Developers of AAA titles to get away with it, dovetail games should be checked aswell but listen I have voted with my wallet
Yea fair enough i would just rather pay and enjoy the games for what they are rather than trying to change a whole industry
I am not the one who sits and allows that bs to destory our community, be blind to it bro but you are part of the problem
Not true!!!!!!!!! What you seem to be calling the "base game" includes the CSX Heavy Haul route. That and each subsequent route includes rolling stock, which you refer to as "consists". Your closing statement simply does not make sense.
That route is an addon to the main TSW game engine, this has to be the case because you can load the main game engine without it. If it was not the case then it wouldn't load Take any reference where you have the basic outline and frames but no content and apply it. That's what the game engine for TSW is
I went out and bought a PC system JUST to play TSx and TSW... So yes, people WOULD buy train sims just for the hell of it
I went out and also bought a PC just to play TSxx, and TSW, so this goes to show you there people out there that do
