To be fair it really does seem incredible that we still haven't got one of these.
Have DTG ever given a sensible explanation as to why they won't make this one vehicle?
(Whoever does eventually make one would probably even be able to sell it as a separate add-on such is its importance to most passenger rakes).

I completely agree 84s would be hellfire as they are right beasts but if we are being realistic we would not get any roarer it would be an 86 or 87 as there were more of them. (Unless they did a very early electric route).

Looking at the screenshots on steam, we are getting THREE liveries for the 142:

Can they please change the First Look video. I don’t have epilepsy but I couldn’t look at it without me feeling dizzy (all 18 seconds of it). I certainly didn’t properly see any of the images.

That picture is just purely impressive. All of that with just shy of 50 high quality miles of route including two branches for 30 quid is an absolute steal and I would say unheard of in TSW. Roll on release day which I hope is the 14th as I have the 14th, 15th and 16th off so that would be perfect!

I wasn't expecting the Skipper as well as the Pacer. I'm guessing a few made it to that part of the world when they realized they weren't suitable for the Devon and Cornwall branches

Yes, this puzzles me too, as the model shop I go to is inundated with BR era diesels just as muchas steam and much more than the diesels. Also the last couple of visits I have felt the odd one out as I were the only person there who had any grey hairs as all the other people were young folk, late teens early twenties, so there are clearly plenty of the younger lot interesting and part of the hobby.
I mut admit the only reason I still have TSC is for the BR Blue and other historic routes so all it'll take is a few more of those in TSW and I'll be out of TSC altogether.

Yes I feel if routes like NTP and TVL had been made in the same way as LBN or SEHS or even how BPO is looking, with interesting and varied timetables they would be much more popular with the wider audience, as, especially NTP, their timetables feel way too generic really.

Even though I'm not a huge BR era fan. I'd love a deeper route, with more variety for it like SEHS. Lot of variety of rolling stock, and I really enjoy the industrial aspect of that era. So I'd love somewhere with dockyards/steelworks as well as passenger running.

This looks to be the similar kind of thing to SEHS, albeit smaller in scale. The detail looks right up there, the newsletter even said the rollercoaster is animated, not static.
Variety in rolling stock, services, and not just an A-B route. Is what keeps me interested in a route for a long time.

I can sense a very long couple of weeks now leading to this! I think there will be many who would agree that the biggest thanks goes to the whole of the JT team as you have been great with the communication, updates (based on feedback here, but hopefully post release where necessary too), teasers, but most importantly have done a route in the glory days of the 80s and put some proper passion into it. I seriously could dish out so much more praise but I'll leave that to others as really do need to dash now!

We will always be open to feedback, at the end of the day our aim is to make as many people as possible happy where we can.
Updates moving forward, should we need to revisit and fix anything we will do our best to ensure we do what is right / needed should anything come up.

    Again thank you :)

Really was not expecting to see various 142 liveries and both the large logo and the Intercity liveries for the 47. A lot of Dovetail releases seem to miss out on these opportunities to throw in extra liveries but IMO they add a nice bit of extra value.

If that was Dovetail we would be needing to pay £5.00 for those livery's.

teaser trailer I believe, they’re not often meant to be easy to pick out details, often hide secrets within seconds of frames.

What does it tell you if a company can do with the first release what the others didnt (want) for 5 years?

Again DTG could have added those kind of surprises to the BR routes (no licences), and again they didnt!

Variety brings things alive. I'm not sure DTG have ever grasped that. It's good to see even fans of newer stuff are showing appreciation for the info from JT so far. DTG manged to produce routes with some amazing timetables but with similar or the same trains in some cases. The only negative I can say with this is the lack of AC electric power but to be fair it wouldn't make sense to produce AC traction for a diesel route in all but one part. Let's hope that is in the pipeline one day as a big part of the routes appeal is sitting at Preston watching the action. Glad I am off work that week can really get a good go on it!!

It would be nice if this was the first route that got extended as a Network. So next section would be Preston to Windermere which would require an AC electric and suitable coaching stock for Preston to Oxenholme and whatever was working the Windermere branch at that point (possibly still a Class 108). Unlikely I know given the editor constraints and cooking etc., but nice to dream.

This looks amazing and the extra liveries are a nice surprise I was not expecting. I am just hoping that it runs as smooth as the Tsw 2 routes on Xbox Series S then it will be an absolute winner. Especially loving the BR yellow transit vans, a nice touch.

In honour of this route and how amazing it is, I have added an Inter-City Class 47 and blue & grey coach to my little Hornby display.

Day one purchase, even already set the money aside ready. I said it before but JT, thank you all.

everything i've seen and heard so far is incredibly impressive!

what sold this route to me initially was the inclusion of the class 142 pacer.. now the fact we get that but with three distinct liveries on release is amazing!

I personally don't usually go for the older era content, but this is frankly too good to miss out on. I love there are essentially three separate passenger routes to use too, creating the feel of a mini network, which should really make for a lot of variety for long-term gameplay.

overall the route looks like it will be the best visually of any route ever released in tsw, the pacer coming with three liveries is such an amazing and understated bonus.. i know it might seem early to say as it isn't quite released yet, but to everyone at JT thank you and well done on such a well executed route!

More than a few - I remember a period when the Skipper livery was commonplace in the North of England, after they were booted out of the South-West for excessive flange squeal/wear. I travelled on them on many occasions. Another nice touch from JustTrains to reflect that in the route.

Perhaps their next project is Plymouth to Gunnislake and Liskeard for Looe.

Pedant mode but in 1986 as far as I am aware all the Skippers were in Devon and Cornwall so I doubt they would have been seen in the Preston area. That is quite a minor point though I guess.

Whilst in Leeds today I were just thinking letting the time I had pass and it weirdly dawned on me that if JT have been working on this for 18 months they would have started working on it in TSW2, not long after SoS released. When I thought about it like that it suddenly felt a whole lot longer and kind of put it into perspective.

They had a learning curve to tackle, and may have some re usable assets so a new route could come in with a shorter dev time....

A TSW Kyle, West Highland or North Wales Coast. Failing that Crewe to Preston with some branches off could be a big winner.....

Yes by no means a complain, the time is appreciated, but seeing it like that really did just put into perspective how much has been leading up to this.
