I've bitched and moaned in the past, especially the sounds and Rivet, but this new free roam, and plonking trains wherever I want is the beginning of something great. The magic is being able to play out imaginary scenarios in amongst a working timetable. Signals aren't set in stone so much. What could be better? The ability to choose between cold start and started, plonking trains down on the map etc. But for now, big thumbs up as it feels like I want to play it and invest more now.
That would require proper implementation of cold and dark. I don't think all trains have the ability to fully shut it down
One problem with Free roam is that you can't set up custom passenger services with it yet, reducing my use of it dramatically. It's perfect if you want to drive trains from A. to B., B. to C. and C. to D and look how the dispatcher gets you through the timetable, but I miss the service aspect when I spawn a commuter train and can't get passengers in and out. A "on-the-fly" scennario planner for free roam would be great. Scenario planner 2.0 still misses a lot of features and is too much of a hurdle if you juat want to set up a basic little commuter service.
