I've recently updated the hardware on my machine, got a new AMD 6800XT. Reinstalled everything. Before the upgrade (this weekend 04/11) this did not happen on those scenarios. However on some scenarios these are the examples: "Standard”,”GWML”,”[47+MJAl 6B11 Reading - Appleford” (Dovetail) “Career”, “WCML South”, “6.[390/11] 9G3S London Euston - Birmingham” (Dovetail) “Western Mainline”, “2C41 EXD-PAR (Part 2 PLY-PAR) JTI53” (Just-Trains) I am getting graphics glitching/tearing in the sky. I've posted a link below for you to see. https://clipchamp.com/watch/AhSfqSGCBnp I've not tested all scenarios yet, however NOT ALL of them have this problem, so far only the ones I've mentioned above. I've tried clearing cache and SDBCache.bin I've used the vanilla Steam load. I've tried with DX12 and also with the Beta update but all the same. Maybe i need to turn off APSWEP2.0 for certain scenarios? how do i do that please?
Did you fix it? could you try it again and let me know if it's still the same? Maybe i need to turn off APSWEP2.0 for certain scenarios? how do i do that please?
Nope. Did read that real tearing can be fixed by fps and monitor performance. Wanted to create a video and post the question overhere. But got distracted by life and then forgot about it. But will be monitoring this thread to see what the whizzkids come up with. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/search/49890909/?q=tearing&o=relevance I do not use the Powerhouse additional software. I have a clean TSC Beta with only of ficialpayware DLC from steam.
It's only the sky, not the whole pic. Out of interest, did you have a look at the vid link i posted? in the first post, you can see what i'm referring.
Yes I did see it. Video runs fine. I would just get rid of that unofficial Armstrong add-on and check again, then you can rule that out, or not. Or wait till someone with more knowledge on the subject to drops by. Because I know next to nothing on the subject. I think Armstrong frequently visit these forums too. They seem to have a solid reputation so I am sure the will post a response.
I have asked on AP support, his response is: "Just to confirm, do you have our Sky/Weather Enhancement Pack installed? If so, any scenarios you drive must have an AP weather pattern selected to avoid any glitches like this." - thing is, it was working before the rebuild. Also I'm not sure if i can turn on/off the APSWEP for each scenario, it doesnt look like it.
Just do what you suspect first Get rid of Armstrong add-on and test again and decide to reinstall or not.
I've sent another message to Armstrong to try and find out how to cleanly uninstall or turn off per scenery. Or even offer another option.
Turned out I record it. Phone filming laptop screen. You can notice it on the horizon above the mountains in the top-right corner . . . https://www.veed.io/view/fabfa545-6c5d-4f34-bd63-158ba1cc3a74 I had a clean install. Only official Steam Payware. No TS Marketplace or third parties.
You could go in to the Editor for the Scenarios you have problems with and change the Weather pattern to default.
yeah it works but it's not the same problem. Mine affects the whole sky block. If i remove the AP/APWeather directory from Railworks, the whole sky turns black and no ripping occurs so it's definitely the AP SWEP pack. I think at this time, the only thing to be done is to reinstall the offending scenarios, thereby overwriting the AP SWEP for those scenarios.
Yep, I agree. That is why I wrote "similar smaller effects". Overwriting sounds good. Nothing like an easy life with just Official Steam Payware, no third parties and no market place. Together with the BETA that runs tip top ok.
