Hi, Among all the tutorials, showcases and help topics, I thought I'd start one where we can talk about what part of the process we really enjoy and why For me it's putting in vegetation and getting the scenery to feel close to its real world counterpart in that way. As a close second I think creating custom 3d models is quite rewarding when it's done, but I find the task itself a bit tedious. Probably a skill issue Blueprint scripting I don't like that much right now because so far I feel like I've spent more time bug hunting than producing useful stuff. Timetables, loco building, scenarios I haven't gotten into yet. Disregarding what you're objectively good at, what do you enjoy?
I like creating the landscapes . laying track is my second although I need to master creating junctions on a slope. I'm learning blender atm as well so not really sure what my best part is
I'm just before the moment to finally get my Lidar issues for the past 9 days done. Currently there are importing some of my .asc files for Rhineland-Palatinate, while I'm writing this. Thus, I'm not that far yet to have an opinion about what process I enjoy the most, but hopefully things will get a bit better than the hell I went through the last week for merging my tiles. I hope that work to place assets and build up the cities could be more fun. But I have a lot of fear of building custom assets. But I hope whatever problem comes in the next weeks, there won't be any which prevent me completely from continueing with the project. I will be happy if I can visit the cities for the first time and maybe have train ride at the route. I've seen that you came pretty far with your Husum - St. Peter-Ording route. I wish to sit down one day also and just enjoy the landscape of my childhood place as well.
My favourite part about art creation is reference gathering and in general learning about the subject I'm working on. Second favourite is probably environment art, prioritizing what is important and what isn't and trying to represent the area as best as possible while also being reasonably efficient.
