    Some people might know me from the TSC discord already but recently I thought I'll also share my stuff here cause why not.
    I will try to keep my activity here high and answer all the questions regarding my projects.

    currently working on the implementation of working mirrors for the 628
    besides a new sound overhaul

    Is this really a mirrored image of the outside or rather a “pre recorded” image of the train? I am wondering if you could actually watch the passengers through them.

    The question originates actually from me wondering whether one could also implement the camera picture on the rearward facing cameras in locos like the Vectron. I believe this tech would need to be quite similar?!

    I really hoped the vectron had the cameras on the outside functional, but unfortunately not. hope somebody'll add that sooner or later though :)

    Infact it been modded already. The same guy showed me how to apply it to the 628.

    The mirror is live time and not pre recorded
    Also as i said above I infact copied that system from the Vectron Mod^^

    So, I assume the answer to my question above is yes, it is a real image… I assume, though, the Vectron mod you mentioned is not yet downloadable, somewhere?!

    Yep, makes sense! However, some seem to work and are published as well. Just wanted to make sure I am not missing out on this one;)

    There is a patch for the Editor making cooking possible however some problems may still persist and it's unstable depending on what you want to cook, afaik

    The Vectron is still WIP, cooking is possible but he/we still plan to add more things

    That looks great!
    Is there any possibility of adding a traversable engine room to the Vectron? Or is that not possible?
    It's one thing I really felt let an otherwise very good loco down.

    The people above had no problems watching it but i can check again

    Edit: Try it now, i have rechecked the options, i love yt doing its things

    I suppose as soon as you can properly cook things, tons of nice mods and improvements will release :P

    Any chance you'll work on a IC cabcar as a releasable mod?

    I might work on it again but the model is made by a friend of mine who would like to keep it private...

    The IC Steuerwagen project is currently on pause until I finish my other projects with higher priority.

    For soundmods i currently still stick to the unofficial editor and my
    mirror stuff is made in the official editor

    hey Markus do you perhaps know how I reskin a train's livery and make it apply to the same RVD, without it just, well, not working?? I tried following Folezz' tutorial he made on his YT channel and website and changed a few settings cus I want it to be retextured, not a seperate variant, but it doesn't apply. maybe it's because I'm trying to do it on an EMU? it's the ICE 3M from KAH I am currently working on. a little help would be appreciated I guess :)

    If you right-click the rvv, you can create a "child blueprint class" or something like that, then move this to your folder, open it, select the model, you want to change textures off, and then you have some options on the right, including something that says override materials, there you can add your repaint materials.

    yeah I already got that far thanks but all thats left to do is making that somehow apply to the train through the RVD files which I can't figure out at the moment

    idk what I have to change but the end result I want is that when I spawn an ICE 3M it will wear the new livery I created instead of the default one

    Then you only need to do some override textures in child blueprint of the rvv

    I forgot, you also need to copy the RailvehicleDefinition, you might need to use UnrealPak, I cant remember how I did it

    are you saying I don't need new RVD entries (or whatever) to make the game think ooh apply that texture?

    oh. yeah I already did it with the RVDs and reassigned the RVVs but didnt work in-game

    Step-by-step:
    1. Copy the RailvehicleDefinition(s), of the according train part(s)
    2. If it's multiple, create a TrainFormation with the correct order
    3. Create a child blueprint class for all RVV(s) of the train part(s), and move them to your folder
    4. Select the RVV(s) in the RailVehicleDefinition(s) as "View Actor Asset"
    5. Open an RVV, go to Viewport, select the model, that hast the textures you want to change
    6. On the right, scroll down to Rendering and Override Materials, apply your materials to the correct number(like trial & error)
    7. Activate Simulation to see the new texture, and turn it back off.
    8. Compile and Save your RVV, close it
    9. You should be done I guess

    Btw Folezz used some different stuff, that I think works for pakking and later on actually seeing it as a repaint in the game. But this is like way simpler and just for scenarios or sth(I have actually no idea)
