    Hi all

I put a little video together about what the new Blackpool Branches means to me. I take a look back to 1990 when I worked at BR from Preston, and worked on the pacers

TinTin, can you confirm the constant up/down oscillation was a thing even on straight tracks? I feel it's a little overdone, but of course I've never been on a Pacer irl.

Absolutely. When everyone talks about it they are not kidding. One skill of a guard was selling a ticket on a moving pacer while trying to stay standing up and work the portable ticket machine .

Thanks! Taking another ride, and never would've thought I'd enjoy that bus so much. :D

    Cheers!

What's the point of stopping after that token check after the signal

Oh yes, that's definitely a skill. Even at below 25mph the pacers bounce all over the place (at least they do on the preserved line I do some volunteering at).

In which direction? From the Preston direction you get the (slightly misleading and somewhat pointless) go via instruction for the signal, almost immediately followed by the token stop. You don’t need to stop twice.

Really enjoying the route so far Just Trains has knocked this route out of the park for a home run.

it’s a go via, so you shouldn’t be stopping twice, though I don’t think it’s necessary apart from the actual exchange stop.
