This would be an extension of the MML to Sheffield and Matlock This extension would be 42 miles long which is theoretically possible for a route extension. I suggest Sheffield and Matlock because Ambergate (When the mainline splits off) - Matlock is only 7 miles long. Stations Duffield Belper Ambergate Whatstandwell Cromford Matlock Bath Matlock Chesterfield Dronfield Sheffield New rolling stock Class 222 'Meridian' Class 156 'Sprinter' Why we need this rolling stock: The MML is very bare and empty with just HSTs on the line and needs a bit of variation with the meridians which did most services when the route was set (2019) And the 156 would provide the variation running alongside the 158 on the Nottingham - Matlock and the Nottingham - Crewe (Derby termination) services. The Meridian is a type of voyager which is desperately needed in TSW and the 156 could be used on a few ECML services between Peterborough and Grantham. On its Liverpool Lime Street - Norwich services. Licensing Unless you've been living under a rock, you should know dovetail games do no have an EMR license. But they do have an EMT one. So that's what livery both trains would be in. As the route is set in 2019 it would be in EMT livery anyway Thanks for reading my post hope you like my suggestion
Good suggestion, I think the Derwent Valley Line would be a great choice for an extension to Midland Main Line if Skyhook decided to go down that route. The stock suggested is suggested quite often for either MML or an extension from MML to Sheffield/Matlock for example
I agree with this suggestion however I would much rather have the Erewash Valley than the Derwent Valley. The 156s could shift into the Derby / Matlock & Lincoln to Leicester as per real life with the odd 158 here and there, and the 158s could work in double between Nottingham and Sheffield on the Liverpool services, with the occasional probability of a 156 + 158 combo
