Having a problem with this section of my SRTM when I select create landscape The generating cell bar pops up but it doesn't generate the landscape. I decided to try deleting my SRTM from my content browser and importing them again but I still get the same issue. I restarted my editor and it still hasn't made any difference.
Do you selected all of your 4 SRTM files and then clicked on "Use Selected Assets" before you clicked on "Create Landscape(s)"? Because if the needed SRTM file wasn't select, it cannot generate the landscape. Also what happens if you hovering exactly over the missing tile, looking at the surface and then click on "Create Landscape(s)"? The same?
What happens if you paste this command into the console? ts2ed.experimental.CreateSceneryAndLandscapeTilesFromKML 3 This should recreate all the tiles with SRTM data from scratch. Caution: You maybe lose progress with texture placement and need to reapply Lidar for all of your tiles. You also can create a backup copy of your plugin first to come back to this stage later. (To open up the Editor's console, press the key left under ESC on keyboard with english layout)
Doesn't that command create the terrain from the kml file? generating 815 cells so should take a while
Correction, it does not touch the tiles that are already created so you won't lose anything. Only way to get rid of a tile and make it re-generate is to find out it's name using the world compositor window, then jump somewhere far so that it unloads and delete it from the Tiles folder. Then you can create the tile again using Route-building tools. btw. Are you sure it's not just hidden? Try to scroll through the World Outliner and see if there's a LandscapeStreamingProxy that doesn't have the open eye next to it. I personally hit the H button by accident all the time so it's a plausible explanation.
I had something like this happen. I had a empty tile that the Lidar wouldn't create terrain on. I'd applied a ton of Lidar to the map and didn't really want to start over. I took a bit of a risk as I had no idea what would happen to the map: I hovered over the tile and noted the Coordinates. I quit the editor, then went into the tiles folder through explorer and deleted the tile. I opened the editor and map, re-loaded the HTG and Lidar files, Went to the tile (Still empty) then applied the HGT and Lidar again. The terrain appeared correctly.
I did start over again, but then checked my recycle bin and my plugins route folder was still in there so just restored it deleted the tile file from the content browser and in my explorer folder. Reloaded the editor selected use selected assets, create landscape and it took a while to load but it worked. Thank you so much you saved me from deleting a lot of work
