Nec: New York - Trenton Is A Performance Nightmare, Even On High-end Pcs

    There's the problem, the tape deck TSW is loading from is chewing the tape up.

    (And this is why the first thing we did upon getting games back in the day was make a copy :D )

    I always thought it was the crickets(I don’t know how to correctly name these insects in English). They are on every route.

    That would be very strange i go never to a pub with loud music or to a stage with a loud speaker sound...

    What you talking about is not a result of this problem... Its more a case of different systems in our head and ears. Its very known that teenage people hears higher sounds than mid age people due the age and how the ears are growing. You talk more in a way of damage on the hearing but the experts make tests with groups and that was a separate thing. It is possible that people can different sounds and different pitch of it.

    But anyway i have used my headphones and its notified very well... My tablet has not the best speakers and i was not in a quiet space...

    Yeah, tablets and the like, the speakers are optimised for vocal ranges, since mostly you want to be able to pick out the sound of the person talking to you over the background noise of wherever you are. They're pretty bad for reproducing just about anything else.


    When it comes to actual hearing, I unfortunately have all my life had hearing that is quite capable of picking up sounds like coil whine from solid state drives (much more noticeable and high pitched a shriek than the more background white noise sounds hard drives made which has resulted in me becoming quite picky about the SSD brands I will use), or the sound of the motors idling in my VR headset's base stations (I very quickly set them to fully enter sleep mode when the headset is off), and many more sounds which I try to avoid as much as possible. Flourescent lighting was always an absolute bastard for it, which thankfully a shift to LED stuff in most commercial spaces has helped deal with.

    What about fans in laptops? To me it is a piercing sound in my head.

    Try one of those 7840U handhelds, docked and bumped up to 30W TDP to get 60FPS in CP77.
    I literally went and bought a bunch of microphone isolation shields to build an enclosure bracket around my dock for it, in order to keep that fan sound to a minimum.

    I spawned into a timetable service and went into the free camera and found a platform flooded with passengers. But it seems like they were only on that platform, not on any other platform. I am playing on pc

    How did you do that? I'm on the PC version too, but no passengers at all. It's been this way since I bought it and it hasn't been fixed in months.

    And neither has AI service that STILL opening doors on wrong side lol, as you provided an example of the screenshot(besides no passengers on platforms)

    And Acela's door position is completely wrong. Passengers are running into the walls of the train and it's overflowing with passengers who can't get in. Of course this is happening at NEC: Boston - Providence, because Nec: New York - Trenton doesn't have a single passenger!

    Nothing actually. I just spawned into a service and decided to do my usual free camera to explore penn station and happened to stumble onto a filled platform. But I haven't been able to see any anywhere else or other stations. Just got lucky it seems

    yea that has been the case. Passengers are only seeng at Penn station platform but do not get on any trains. They come down the stairs, walk the platform, and then head back up the stairs at the other end

    I do wonder now that the performance on NYT is stabilized, if PC's would had been able to handle the AI freight services as it was intended. Is it possible to have 3 different timetables on a DLC?

    You can likely have as many as you want. They're just not going to want to manage that many.
    Having now built a timetable in the editor myself. I would lose my mind if I had to simulate 3 of them for each change I made.
    Each simulation can easily take 30+ minutes depending on how complicated it is. My timetable with 300 services takes about 25 minutes.
    NYT has a lot of services, so simulation would likely even take over an hour. So any time you make a change, you would need to simulate it for one hour x the amount of timetables. So that's either 3 hours, or 3 PCs doing nothing else for an hour.

    Well, of course. With the upcoming aggregates car pack for Arosalinie, that route will already have 3 different timetables availabe.

    The stations along this route are haunted, you can hear them talking but there is nobody there......was this update done for Halloween?

    Yet they don't even get on the train...

    When in the world will DTG finally sort out passengers in this game. World of Subways 4 has a better passenger system than this game

    This weekend I bought the New York Trenton route for TSW4 and refunded it in 5 minutes of unplayable stuttering, well I bought it back and thought I will wait for DTG to fix it. I then had a problem with my TSC display and search for the ebst NVIDIA settings for TSC and found it, I changed it accordingly but it did not do any magic for TSC so I last night I decided to take a stuttering trip over the New York Trenton line and was amazed that I could run the route with no stuttering at all, the best NVIDIA settings for TSC solved the stuttering in TSW4 New York Trenton completely. I also then tested a few other routes on TSW4 that also had stuttering but less severe and found that even those routes had no stutter at all. I am going to share my NVIDIA settings below and then my TSW4 settings. I do not have a high end PC at all and it would be interesting to know if these settings below can help everyone. I am not sure about the Radeon settings but I guess it have more or less the same options. This saved TSW4 New York Trenton line for me and I hope for everyone else too.

    Pretty sure all you’ve experienced there is the shader cache compiling on your first run through, then it being fine after that. It’s pretty common and everyone has the same thing, albeit to a lesser extent on higher end machines.

    Hi Jet, maybe yes but I did not have a first run, I could not even get out of Penn station when I gave up, was unbearable stuttering.

    try to spawn in. If is a service starting a Penn around the rush hour and you have the LIRR layer, chances are it will crash. during off peak hours I find it to work wit not issues.
