I look on the bright side as much as I can and tend to not say much about things that are broken (unless gamebreaking).

However, could someone tell the OP that, in order to become a DTG ambassador, you are allowed to criticise them.

I thought it had been a while! At least there is an admission in their post that there aren't passengers this time!
Along with the usually wonderful replies this post of his made me chuckle too:
I'll see you all after this one is locked and another one complaining about people who commented in this one is opened! :)

The OP is an Australian Train Operator. I wouldn't blame anyone if anyone didn't believe that

How do I donate? Oh wait - I did by buying the core game 5 times.

I’m glad I don’t play this route on PC. Although there is a lot of glaring issues with this route, it still is very good on console cause you don’t get the lag. Yes the scenery is very bad for 1/3 of the route, but it still feels somewhat busy. I can sometimes ignore the terrible scenery around Newark and New York but sometimes it’s so bad you can’t ignore it sadly:(

something in the back of my mind tells me that Dovetail re-using scenery from the original NEC in TSW 1 came back to bite them in the rear because of there laziness.

5..? 2020, 2, 3, 4 - 4 iterations in 6 years... yeah not that great ( I wouldn't count TSC due to it being seperate unless you mean TSC's old system which was questionable to say the least) or am I missing something? Sorry I'm struggling to understand what this means.

it certainly lags at least at NY Penn on the extended timetable on console, when the frame rate takes the hits.

don’t think console or pc changes much in terms of route performance though, Gen 8 will be lower.

NY Penn is a disaster on current gen (I’m on PS5) I get so much low FPS that on rare occasions it crashes. It’s been like that since they added the M7. I can’t imagine on 8th generation…

Even the very latest reviews on Steam from this week say this route crashes every 15-20 minutes and has appalling performance in-between. Given they have just done a big patch though I wouldn't be holding my breath for much else.

Really? I’m on Series X and it rarely stutters when I’m entering the tunnels and in NY Penn. although I wonder if it’s because I don’t have the LIRR locos..

You don’t have LIRR that’s why. It was fine without trains from LIRR but with them it’s quite a nightmare trying to enter/leave Penn station :(

Good to know. I was tempted to get LIRR just for them to sub into NY - Trenton earlier this year. think I’m going to steer away from it for quite a while now..

So is the issue the LIRR trains, or just additional trains at New York Penn in general?

Makes me wonder if they should of replaced the LIRR layers with the removed freight ones.

I do think it’s that but also the signal complexity. Between Secaucus and NY Penn, if you haven’t noticed, there’s invisible signals everywhere. Although I don’t know much about that portion of the NEC irl, it doesn’t seem like there should be that much signals between that sections. Matt also said something about signals being a possibility for reason for crashing. Just a guess though..

I have the LIRR layer with M3 on PC steam and M7 Xbox X and the performance is good no issues with FPS even at Penn station. NYT has lots of issues but performance is no longer one of them

Yet y'all wanted more traffic on New York-Trenton..........by layering in LIRR.

You only have needed to purchase the core 4 times if you wanted to own all the editions. CSXHH,TSW,TSW2020 were all the same SKU on Steam (free core upgrades), TSW2, TSW3, and finally TSW4. Rush Hour was optional.

You may also be forgetting that CSX: Heavy Haul offered horrible value over the long term. TSW added the NEC, Rapid Transit, and GWE to the core package. TSW 2020 added Leeds Manchester, LIRR, and MSB. The originals didn't get (free) access to future core routes despite the core having a similar upfront cost. It's been forgotten about by Dovetail, to the point you can still buy CSX: Heavy Haul as "Train Simulator World" for PC via the Microsoft Store for £24.99, despite them removing earlier TSW titles from all platforms. This is the earliest edition you can still purchase and if/when the retail team find out about it, they'll likely remove it. Doesn't have or work with any DLC, just CSX Heavy Haul. Maybe that can count as the 5th version because it exists in the late 2017 state, while TSW/TSW2020 is using the latest code from 2020.

More traffic, but not the bugs and stuff that came with it.

  22. Playing with mid level video card 1650 4gb I think the frames drop to 35FPS at NY Penn.

Still its acceptable and quite pretty.

Having played the NEC on TSC as it was one of the original routes, my expectations weren't that high.

But I stand my original post.

I did a short run to Sunnydale yards from NY Penn and was behind a train queue. So eventually I got to the wash facility after half an hour or so.

I now know why it said 1:07 duration ROFL! there you go I learnt something. :)

Will post some screenshots shortly. I do think it looks great!

Hope everyone on PC is running -dx12 option because it certainly makes a difference performance wise.

The engine.ini tweak might help a little too.

  23. Hey Matt,

I only put in what I noticed.

I didn't notice "many" bugs. Am I supposed to for the groupthink wagon?

The signals worked and I saw other trains. But no bugs unfortunately. Hope that doesn't mess with your narrative....

It was pointed out to me that the track near the rail was leaking. But I saw it in Antelope Valley too. And it isn't very noticeable.

But as for bugs only MAX has gone to lengths to list them.

I could complete the service 1st time to Trenton with no issues.

I used photo mode as well a few times.

    No issues.

But you aren't here to talk about the post. You have other motives.

    Groupthink.

    No bugs? Really?

They've been pointed out to you already multiple times, in this thread and others.

And yet the "alternate reality" threads will continue to come from someone who's trying for that Ambassador spot. We can point out everything that's wrong and a vast majority of us, if not all, experience the exact same thing. Yet, we must be playing a completely different version of DLC and core game based on how perfect everything seems to be for them.

I like this theory, maybe he is from another universe? It is possible to get the TSW version from that alternative universe where DTG fixes all the bugs in time?

  27. Ok guys insults are being reported.

I mean it, deal with the OP and don't get personal.

    You are all getting ridiculous!

Go to that whinge threat you all love Enough is Enough where you all get to massage each other's egos. Groupthink. Google it.

    Now go away.

I don't see any insult in the post you quoted. But I do see a certain pattern here, with one constant. Reported.

Post your route feedback in the according feedback thread and stop making yourself the center of the universe.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And I too see no insults at all in this thread, not to mention it does indeed belong in the Route Feedback forum.

No one personally berated you, slung a personal insult, or called you any names of any sort. This thread is just another in a pattern only you appear to be blind to. Stop gaslighting your fellow forum members and TSW players.

Ain't it bloody amazing how a bunch of binary 1's and 0's on a computer screen can devolve humanity.........

People will like it and people won't, just accept that fact, yes the game has multiple issues, but if the OP is blissfully happy in his denial of said issues, all power to him......

No one cares whether he likes it or not. But he continually denies any issues with TSW exist and outright simply refuses to listen when we say otherwise.

There's liking a game, and there's thinking you're being insulted when people point out very obvious issues.

If people want to criticize the OP, who I happen to like and has helped me, so be it.

However, if you really want to make changes with all of the issues, do what I did and try to get involved instead of just complaining.

So you are a beta tester for TSW? I'm asking because what else we can do besides write reports in the forums and tickets if one has not been accepted for beta tester program.
Btw. just because I like someone or he helped me or the other way around this doesn't mean I have to always share the same opinion or can't discuss with that person, right?

Founders Edition/CSX Heavy Haul 2017 - then just "Train Sim World" for a bit before TSW2020. It too had a price tag.

    Maybe this will help: https://train-sim-world.fandom.com/wiki/Release_History_&_DLC

you are right; 4 times - - I think I got confused because they started calling it Train Sim World 2020 sometime in 2019 ...

Good morning everyone. I want to add in a message to everyone from this thread as we've had many reports flying around.

To the OP, they are free to post and speak their mind about TSW (so long as it follows our code of conduct). In return, users are free to comment on threads in a respectful manner. Currently, similar threads to this one quickly head towards a group mentality that will only upset certain targetted users, and this cannot be continually tolerated.

I want to ask politely that if you do not agree with the views being shared on these posts, or even if you believe it's being done in an intentional manner, simply disengage from the thread.
