Another suggestion for DLoGW dlc layer would be the Class 251/261 Western Blue Pullman 6 and 8 car sets in reverse Blue/Grey livery as could be found operating out of London Paddington for the first few years of the 1970s. A unique train with luxury interiors and indeed a precursor to the HST. The NBL-MAN engines were the same type as could be found on the Class 22 Baby Warship and in a pair on the Class 41 Warship but were coupled to electric transmission instead of the hydraulic type. As a side note, a surviving engine of this type is currently owned by the Class 22 society who plan to build a replica example of the Class 22 with another charity, BRCW, planning to build a replica of the Blue Pullman (not sure what engine type will be used for this project).

Good call. Not sure if there is any footage with sound of these units in traffic. I remember seeing an old b/w (BTC?) video years ago, basically a promo BR produced at the time, but seems likely the sound was dubbed.

Apologies for the necrobump but just thought I'd mention the fantastic resource book I have just acquired which has many fascinating photos and details about these often overlooked trains. My copy was acquired via BRCW website with a portion of the cost going towards the charity projects which include the hope to one day build a new example of this train. I agree with this as I'd love to see the blue pullman HST in tsw 2 upload_2022-5-14_20-27-35.jpeg

That picture is not the original though, but the HST repaint imposter!

With Peak Forest having been with us for a while now, perhaps it is the ideal time to create the Midland variant of the Blue Pullman sets as a dlc. Another perfect opportunity to create two dlcs in one go with both Midland and Western types. There have been so many missed opportunities like this that would fill our collections if done at the same time to reduce dev time and work load.

Its still the closest thing to the Blue Pullman. Better then a repainted 47

The HST used is ex-EMR which we have in game + Livery Designer / Creator's Club and BOOM! a 21st Century Blue Pullman

Good suggestion for MML. The original units as well for both PFV and DLoGW. Perhaps if both original versions can be made, they could be released with a reworked HST as a Pullman pack. Throw in an original or a rebuilt 5BEL set for LBN and we would have a great selection of Pullman trains. I'll keep dreaming though.
