I am using the GP38-2 on HSC but at the point where the speed limit increases to 50 it randomly lost all brake pressure and stopped. After resetting the controls it will not build any brake pressure again. Why is it doing this and how am I supposed to stop it happening? I cannot get any information on any EMD locos as they seem to have not allowed anything to be public information.
This is probably a bug. The real units wouldn't just shut your power off for going that speed. I have just tested it with a timetable service and I reached 51mph with no issue. Are you spawning it in or do you have any mods installed?
It is the same on the UP GP38-2 it starts beeping on this one but slams the brakes on as soon as it starts beeping and will not release the brakes.
It ends up with the risk of running in to the train in front due to the signal system on that route. I have also found other locos don't warn you of the speed change before setting the brakes as soon as it starts beeping, how are you supposed to acknowledge these?
There is nothing to acknowledge; in game, modern safety systems are not modeled on either the GP38 or the HSC route. (IRL of course they would be there).
That is not what I meant by that. On HSC there is a distance based signalling that lets the train behind come right up to the back if you stop for it, so to not run into the train in front it needs to be known what speed is the correct to do on which light on the CSS panel which is seemingly unavailable anywhere I look. When this changes on LIRR it gives you time to apply the brake and then acknowledge the alarm but as soon as it changes on HSC the brakes are applied. How am I supposed to not have this happen other than drive the whole route under 15 on line of sight?
