Steam Preston Blackpool - Class 142 Services Causes To Break The 24h Time Table.

First really nice route, very satisfied with the effort went into it. Didnt touch another dlc since its release. I came across a "major" bug, which is occuring when doing multiple services in a session. Means for example from Preston to Blackpool, Blackpool North to Preston etc. without going back to menu.
I tested it now at least 20 times and i could reproduce the problem, but its not related to specific services, but affects most of the pacer services.

Seems after a while (45min + ) in the 24h timetable the pacers causes a traffic blockage in either blackpool, the omskirk branch, also happend once in preston.
For some reason the services dont start, the driver spawns but the door opening sequence is not happening and the pacer stays just there until all the traffic piles up at red lights.
I could "solve" it by pressing the door buttons of the stuck a.i service in the free cam. After the "passenger boarding" was over i closed the doors via free cam and the a.i service was moving from the start location.., but at the first stop the passenger boarding again will not work.

In case it helps for solving the problem:
- i spawned on foot in blackpool, took a service to preston and back to blackpool
- this bug happens too if i spawn on foot and just ride as passenger (without taking over services)
- only the pacer services affected
- It happens on every location (Omskirk services not starting, blackpool south services back not starting, blackpool north services not starting, also preston --> all related to the board passenger task which isnt happening at the start of the service)
- Im not 100% sure, but before the update i did a 12h session finding the collectables as passenger, i havent noticed any problems, services were running well (but really cant say for sure if its related to the update)

 

Here an nother example, from the ormskirk service, which didnt start after 60min in the 24h timetable. (could get the pacer moving by opening the doors and close it after 1min, so the train moved to the first stop and didnt open the doors. No idea what could cause this problem to happen.

Technically its not gamebraking since i can just leave the session after 1 service and reload for the other. Probably it wasnt reported because, most people spawn from the menu and just do 1 run.

As i said, i always spawn on foot into the 24h timetable and take over a service. Also important the pacer services which got stuck (didnt start properly) after 60min+, were running fine by just loading the 24h timetable 5min prior the departure.

 

What would be interesting now, does anybody else having this on steam or an other platform?

 

I noticed that the timetable broke after about 50 minutes whilst I was doing a stint trainspotting at Preston. I was keeping an eye on the map seeing where the trains were arriving from and I saw that there was a traffic jam at Blackpool North and not much moving elsewhere other than Preston AI trains. I had sat in the guard’s seat in a parcel coach in a siding at Preston so I could use the free cam to move around and watch the trains but I’m not sure that could have caused any timetable issues as it wasn’t in any service. This was on PS5.

 

After i noticed this i tested what it caused, so i didnt use any freeroam tools to spawn anything. its definetly the pacer "passenger board" task, which isnt opening the doors. But im not sure if this is the problem or if the service just doesnt start properly.

 

I can confirm this was happening to me the last time I played it as well... The problem in Blackpool North! This is not good and I thought this was an one time indecent so I had no clue this is a serious bug. Looks like this an after update problem.
I play on PC Steam.

 

It can happen on all starting locations of the pacer. I could reproduce it on the omskirk branch, bp south, even preston one time.

 

JT Mark , wanted to ask if your team might can have a look at this? Its affecting players which stay more than 1 service in the 24h timetable and do multiple runs. Also happens if somebody for example stays 4h in the 24h timetable on foot and doesnt enter a service.

 

After thinking about the current timetable problem, im 99.9% sure it didnt happen before the update.
I remember searching the collectables, the game runned 9 hours in one loaded 24h timetable. In the evening i took the pacer to omskirk and also in blackpool nothing was stuck.

 

Yeah thats the whole issue... They have changed the doors behavior and there is some wrong in the train it self... In the release version there was a bug in the doors script and they attempt to fix this but that was not a success if you can noticed now....

Sorry I missed this, I've rarely checked this part of the forum as I only check the feedback thread mainly so had no idea.

There has been no change to the timetable between release and the patch so it's likely something else to blame.

 

Yes i have pointed it out in a link in the trouble shooting section, the a.i pacers services for some reasons dont start their service properly after 45 - 60minutes. Seems they dont open the doors. I could manually do it with freecam, then they drove to the next station and dont open the door again.
For players, who stay 3-4 services in one game it ends up in a huge "stuck on red" usually in blackpool. also happend that the pacer at omskirk didnt start its service, same for a preston service once.

 

The Pacers have been redone with the Buzzer and dooroperations so maybe there is something wrong

 

Just for confirmation, i dont use any mods, not a single one in tsw4. Either i still use the original ini file etc. So its downloaded as its released.

 

I have ask him about the pacer sound mod of here a conflict is but it isn't so you can read. I have mods installed and this doesn't affect this problem.

 

I can confirm that this happens within 2 hours, starting at 0858, on PC/Steam. I took the ballast wagons from Preston to Kirkham CE, and brought the loco back to Preston, wandered over to the platforms, and there were already two trains showing as delayed on the screens for P1 & 2.

By the time I subsequently took an express to Blackpool North, there was a queue of Pacers almost back to Poulton-le-Fylde, with the Blackpool pilot waiting for access to release some carriages from a Peak, and two Pacers sitting in P5 & 6 with their destination blinds set and doors shut, both showing an hour or more late on the screens. Looking at the map showed a similar queue south of Preston, with a Pacer stuck in the platform at Ormskirk (most likely one of the trains previously noted as delayed on the Preston displays).

So there does seem to be something up with the process for turning around an AI train, when it's a Pacer.

 

This isn't just Preston to Blackpool there have been many occasions where the timetable would break on SEHS extended and on Boston Sprinter especially.

 

What you described is for me complete new... SEHS is absolutely stable with really less bugs

 

Frame rate drops at Hoo Junction and the east exit of the tunnel after Stratford say hello, as does the crash I have near Stratford on all services through here.
