I suggest a 51 Mile route from Stafford to Warrington Bank Quay, Including 24 Mile branch, from Crewe to Chester.
The trains would be: Class 221 in Avanti West Coast livery, Class 805 in Avanti west Coast livery, and class 68 in Direct Rail Services livery. Trains would stop only at Crewe.
Services: Class 805 running from Stafford to Warrington and back, Class 221 running from Crewe to Chester and back, Class 68 running on all the route. The operators would be Avanti West Coast and Direct Rail Services.

You could swap out the 805 for the 390 as the 805s aren't in service yet and they are replacing the 221s plus you can't have a modern WCML without the 390. Other then that, I agree with your suggestion.

I'd prefer a class 390 instead of an 801. Not bad suggestion though.
    EDIT: 805

You wouldn't get an 801 on this route anyway ;)

    (I hope not)

If this route was Glasgow - Carlisle, there would be class 801 Azuma, because the LNER trains to Glasgow from King's cross, run from Carstairs to Glasgow on the west coast main line, and how DTG likes, for example, on SouthEastern highspeed extended, services from st pancras to ashford or faversham, are called st pancras to Ramsgate (not only Ramsgate) the same could be on this route, services Carstairs - glasgow with 801 Azuma could be called London King's cross to Glasgow, so, if i would extend ot to glasgow, i would add 801 here

    Two problems:

    A) what you are saying isnt in the scope of this suggestion.

    B) Limited LNER services to Glasgow.

your'e right too, i don't know too much about railways in UK i just like them, and the trains, and that's why i didn't knew that class 805 isn't operating yet, or about the LNER services to Glasgow are limited.

A good idea, however I would do the route from Crewe down towards Rugby or Birmingham or the route northbound towards Preston so that the DLC is West Coast Main Line focused as being suggested. I would swap the Class 805 for a Class 390 and include a Class 350 'Desiro' for stopping services on the route too. I would leave the Crewe to Chester section to a North Wales Coastal route which would run between Holyhead and Crewe :)
