When landscape painting, how can you get that grass, on the surface, I have seen in a dresdenRiesa Material

 

Grass is added using Foliage Mode and not in the landscape editor.

 

i tried that myself i got some grass texture on the map (i dont even know how). but more im not able to do. sadly a creator on youtube deleted all his tutorials. and because im mostly german i dont get along with the english tutorials

 

It's incredible how much you're achieving here, and especially the Cologne-Düsseldorf route is the link between SKA, RRO and HRR, which in turn opens up so many possibilities. Even if the routes are not connected later on, it's so valuable just to have the entire network. I truly admire your work and really looking forward to the whole thing, and perhaps after this Route there will be time for Düsseldorf-Wuppertal at some point but that´s just my personal wish

There is a special feature you can add to a landscape material which is called landscape grass. It's used on most DTG routes. Basically whenever you look 50 meters ahead and see foliage which seems to jump out from the ground in front of you as you drive a train, that's landscape grass. You can find tutorials for how to set that up on YouTube.
The good thing about it is that it's procedurally placed and that's pretty cheap to render.

now to Foly, I like the progress on your route so far even though I don't know much about it lol. Spooky though, electric train on tracks without overhead wires (I know it's WIP but its still funny )
If I'm not mistaken, from Cologne it goes out the other direction (to the bridge)? that'll be awesome to see then! excited to try out new routes, especially the community made ones. back when the next Velaro update drops see ya

hello today i have the third preview to show this is from Düsseldorf Volksgarten to Düsseldorf Benrath, please note that not all you see is final, and that this is still a early work in progress.



It may take about an hour or 2 till it uploads in full quality.

 

You know I really support you and like your stuff but one thing bugs me so much when watching your videos...
Why are you controlling the brake and power levers by looking at them and moving them? :P

 

hahahaha i know, i look at the levers when controlling them because i use controller to play TSW, and before anyone asks why lol, it’s because I started TSW on xbox (where i actually made the national express repaint on the creators club lol) and then i just got used to using controller.

hahahahaha, finally someone addresses it . I've cursed internally so many times in the videos. Oh cool, here comes the IC control car, let's see how it... and he looks at the damn AFB. I can't understand why someone willingly puts up with the controller, but hey, we're all different. Maybe for presentation rides, you might want to switch to keyboard control? But I love your work, simply amazing as always . Keep up that good work!

 

nothing wrong about controller. Braking/accelerating is much more easier.

A few pics of my Play Test on my route today and yesterday, progress is going well as im slowly leaving the Düsseldorf area and moving into the Leverkusen area, I have been doing play tests since last night to make sure that you can drive anything on the route from ECS services to Freight, S-Bahn, Regional and Fernverkehr, and no problems have arised

 

You're doing a fantastic job building, keeping your community in the loop, and tackling questions. You're a cool game developer . You've really nailed the vibe of the original tracks, that's awesome. Excited to hear more about the project. And by the way, the controller comment earlier was just a joke—drive however feels best for you!

is the dosto from Kassel-Würzburg (G3-min.png)

 

The Dostos used in these Pictures are from Main Spessart Bahn, which ones will be implemented in the final Timetable, I still haven’t decided.

 

will the high beam be changed to taillights? but the MSB dosto should be the best to use because the other ones have many bugs

 

in G3-min they are set to Taillights, I find DTG’s implementation of taillights not so good, cuz the tail lights are never red, they are always a bright orange, which is the wrong color.

A lot of progress has been made since my last update, after looking through the Tracks and Signals masterclass I realised I misunderstood something, I thought that OHLE has to be built when the whole track has been layed like Signals but that is not the case, therefore today I have started to play around with OHLE a bit, aswell as that almost the whole of Düsseldorf and Langenfeld has been built Scenery and Tracks wise (without clutter yet), with a few empty patches left for Iconic Buildings, and speaking of Iconic Buildings, this preview contains one, let's see how many of you spot it

the route really looks well made already. sure will be beating up DTGs quality because the community puts in all their love in their projects. keep it running!

also, the driving sound is different than what I remember. is it just me or is that a soundmod or what?
