So, there is this 3rd party for TSC which is Railtraction. They mostly (but as it seems not exklusively) focus on german content. A few days ago, they announced for TSC the FLIRT 1. And in the comment section it they said: So, there is the prove by RailTraction themselves, they do have access to the TSW developers editor and to DTG. I guess, they're at the stage of learning the tools. So probably still a lot of time will pass until we have more news. But there you have it. Next to TSG, Rivet, Skyhook, ATS, SimTrack, UW and JT, there seems to be at least one more 3rd party on the horizon.
https://www.railtraction.eu/train-simulator/coaches-wagons/wagons.html? Here are many freight cars badly missing from the TSW. It took 5 years for a (basic) freight wagon like the EANOS. Instead of wasting time with Christmas quizzes... you might want to think about adding them sometime. I almost lost hope. DTG (and you can see this in the latest product "Maintalbahn") seems to want not to understand. Ultimately I keep the money in my wallet.
You're right, i'd be down for some kind of freight waggons bundle DLC like Skyhook now does for the UK. There are some german waggons badly missing indeed!
Nahhh, his comment makes no sense. He calls TSW a “children game” because of: focus on 3D modeling -> isn’t that a good thing? Better models/scenery equal better realism and more immersion weak sounds and physics -> insanely hilarious considering how much detail TSW can handle in these areas with SimuGraph and all that poor interactivity -> another insane accusation considering TSW allows you to move around and interact with all kinds of things in and around the train I guess he’s just one of those guys stuck in the past who can’t handle the fact that games can be realistic, accessible to more players and graphically decent at the same time.
Yeah his issue points are daft, I did write out a lengthy comment about where TSW lets itself down in its mission to be a simulation (but didn’t want to derail the thread too much). Mainly with misguided focus, route length, non modular systems leading us down the same path to the code issues that TSC has etc. Funnily enough, all 3 points he took issue with are actually things that make TSW an upgrade over TSC.
I find the comments about SimRail interesting. For all the flak we direct towards DTG, it seems like they are pretty good supporters of their 3rd-party devs.
I agree. Since Adam Lucas took over the main communication/support with/of 3rd partys, a lot seems to be going much smoother since then. The always rising number of 3rd partys (and probably also 2nd partys who eventually become 1st or 3rd partys, e.g. Lukas) shows that there is A) a lot interest by established and beloved TSC developers (e.g. ATS, TSG, JT) to develop for TSW, B) a lot of interest by lesser know and smaller studios, C) a 'pull' factor for new studios to be formed (see SimTrack) D) even more interest judging by the huge amount of route and loco projects by the community, with some of them not too far away to be released and only waiting for the cooking fix of the editor and the 'removal' of the addons manager.
