Who Will Do Some Scenarios Before The Event Ends?

    we are 13k away from reaching it and we have only 7 hours left. so please play some scenarios. the best for that is the holiday express route.

    I sure hope they give us all the teasers anyways. The target for that challenge is completely insane, nobody could expect players to complete as many scenarios as timetable services. ;) :o

    13,000 scenarios in 7 hours, when most of them are about an hour long?

    Yes but nobody wants to. This is a game, we play for fun. What would be fun in playing the same 2 minute scenario on repeat, just to unlock some marketing material for a route that will probably either be A.Unfinished, or B. Overpriced like Maintelbahn?

    I would literally rather sit in my chair watching the rain than grind scenarios for marketing reveals.

    Well Steam DB shows the following currently...
    Railroader - 1489 in game.
    SimRail - 653 in game.
    TSC - 1411 in game.
    TSW4 - 798 in game.

    So doing better than SimRail but if they wanted to motivate us to play needed to be something more tangible than what will probably be an oblique view of a coupler or end of a building.

    You're right. They're going to now not show off or release the route they just spent 9 months building. They're just going to throw it all away cause people didn't play enough scenarios.

    Funny how Railroader completely decimates TSW on the Steam charts, when TSW is supposed to be a "finished" game and Railroader is still an early access demo basically. Railroader is also the niche retro US setting that apparently just does not sell well, according to DTG... Tells a lot about the state of TSW and how good DTG is at market research.

    Regarding the original topic of the thread, why would anyone want to grind scenarios to unlock route reveals, when they are literally just marketing material and are always released for "free"? Why should we suddenly complete challenges to know what we will be getting sold next? It's their best interest to get is hyped up about the game, not ours... So why should we grind challenges to get marketing materials shown to us?

    SimRail is actually very good. It runs well, the trains are nicely modelled with decent sounds. There were some issues with conduct in MP at first but choose your server wisely and it's not a problem now - in fact it's almost professional. There are more trolls on this forum than playing SimRail I would say...

    Just needs a better single player mode.

    i dont see anything special at this railroader game its more roblox looking then good quality game. but its just having so many players because of the release

    the game itself is focused on their polish players... the traxx locos and things are all on polish .. thats not good if u want to have an worldwide played game

    It just came out to be fair. It's a very, very different experience to TSW.
    The actual train driving is weak, with very simplified physics. But the management of your company, and actually supply industry is fun. Its a Railroad Management Simulator, with train driving. rather than a Train Driving Simulator.

    Then now comes TSW4 did not have this many players on launch day? Even though TSW offered several routes with different settings, while Railroader is a smaller market for just US railroad fans.

    I do agree that graphically it looks worse. I do hope it gets improved later on.

    Good point, but TSW was also supposed to be more than a simple train driving simulator with the whole "get up your seat and walk around" thing. Rotue tasks (which got reduced into silly collectibles), refuelling, freight loading & unloading, the promise of multiplayer, scenarios with voiced NPCs, etc. Of course as less and less effort seems to be put into releases nowdays, so what started off as something unique and promising did get reduced into a simple train driving game. That one guard mode scenario we have would be a step in the right direction, if it was actually made as a feature and not just a single scenario.

    You'll get more gametime out of Railroader than just a single TSW route, that's for sure.
    It's worth a lot more than 30 euro.
    It's got a fairly long route, like 14 different locos. Plenty of rolling stock.
    It has vastly more content in it than you'll ever get from TSW for even twice as much.

    Not sure how you would get bored of Railroader in 1 hour. There's tons to do.

    The steam physics in Railroader actually aren't too bad, better than I expected. In some ways better than DTG's initial effort in TSW as at least the locos consume coal and water.

    They're really not. Coal and water are not depleted in steam locos. The water level never changes.

    If that was the case, then by the time by train on Spirit of Steam reached Crewe from Liverpool then the amount of coal in the tender wouldn't be the same as when I left Liverpool.

    That's the problem: it doesn't feel like you're driving a steam locomotive.

    It's like not seeing the brakes on a modern EMU increasing whilst the train is slowing down.

    I have 11.3 hours according to Steam, and going to play more now.

    There's room for all sorts of train games, but Railroader is very compelling right now.

    Regarding physics: i don't know how they're modeled, but the trains do what i would expect them to do- if i release brakes on a gradient, i'll start rolling, heavier trains take longer to stop and accelerate. I haven't found anything yet where i'm like, "that doesn't make sense"

    That's why there is a tutorial too for the locos. I only played during the free open beta and prologue where some tutorials were missing or not working so idk if each train has a dedicated tutorial or not. Then if you forget, you can just hover over

    The scenarios are boring so I don't play them. They will still reveal the trailer regardless so this whole community challenge is completely pointless
