Probably looking too deep into this, but rivet quoted this post about the class 380s entering service on barrhead runs on their twitter page today, could this be a teaser for an upcoming route or dlc? what are your thoughts

I really don't like the sloping front on them, looks like a regular EMU that's had a mishap.

Good looking unit that, superior to the 385. IMO

I don't think it's a teaser for anything. They should be fixing Edinburgh - Glasgow before they touch a 380

    I bet if they’ll do the 380 they’ll reuse the 484 sounds…

They could use the 700 sounds, there pretty similar.

Well the motor sounds are the same, just the motor changes at 20mph rather than 27

Rivet never post anything on their social media accounts without reason. If their next UK route might be the Glasgow South Western Line, the first section from Glasgow Central would likely re-use existing track from Cathcart Circle (up to Pollockshields East); whilst Cathcart Circle also crosses the East Kilbride branch between Giffnock and Clarkston; so would seem like a logical choice.

I agree with Alex that East Kilbride and / or Kilmarnock would work as suitable termini using both Rivet and DTG's route criteria.

It's entirely possible. I commented on Rivet's YT channel when they released the Suburban Glasgow route for TSC. I mentioned how I want more Scottish content for TS, specifically the E-G route in the modern day with a 385. Rivet did respond to my comment by saying they want to do Scottish content but for TSW.

Now look where we are. They released the E-G route with a 385 for TSW at the start of the year. I've definitely learned the meaning of being careful for what you wish for after the route actually released!

I think we all learned that after New York to Trenton

I do remember rivet mentioning on their forums how the 385 would be cool before they announced EDN

It's quite strange for them to post "WOW" on a video of a decade-old train. Unless Rivet's social media person is just a huge fan of electrification project.

If they are doing a 380, may I start by saying:
    LOVE*

To be fair, if I rocked up to my local diesel served station to find I now had electrification, I’d be ‘wow’ too.

Unfortunately I can’t say the same at discovering Rivet will be making more trains. Basically all of their current rolling stock is woeful. I just hope they stick to Scotrails weird looking EMU’s since I’d stay clear of them anyway. Would be much more concerning if they were making more widely used units.

Rivet's local had been served by EMUs (the much shinier 385s, no less) for a good few years now.

Well before they bring out the Class 380 they should fix the issues on the 385 including the sound update which I don't think we will ever get.

As long as they let DTG do the physics and sounds i'm fine with them making one, though that is probably too much to ask

I love the Edinburgh to Glasgow route, but the 385 is painful to drive. I might as well be looking out of a matchbox. Do Scotrails not like implementing windows onto their locos. Maybe the train drivers are shy?

No no DTG are horrible at sounds unless they use the AP ones, DTG cannot collect / make accurate desiro sounds to save their life

I mean I’d say the class 20 is a good example of DTG producing a train with good sounds. And about the 700, the DC sounds aren’t actually that bad, it sounds like a desiro, sure it’s not the right desiro but its not unrecognisable, it’s about 50% there.

The class 700 phase change is at 28mph in tsw as it is irl, not 20.

In comparison to Rivet (150/2 and 385 as two woeful examples) they do a more than decent job on the whole.
