I feel really iffy about this route. I don't know if they will do a good job on the Scenery. Maintalbahn was pretty mediocre.. so let's wait and see

If there is already a 710 being made then no chance it is anything other than a 66.

Happy with this, but we need more dc routes. It’s been ages since we last had one

We were drowning in DC routes. The water is still escaping.

Maintalbahn's scenery is nothing like Goblin's, to be fair. I'd imagine this will be more like BML's Victoria-Croydon section than Maintalbahn (in terms of quality)

The thing is i would love to see these kind of aventuras on any route but some question come up like...

Are they going to add srvices to the bakerloo line as they run from watford junction to queens park
Why such a short route (Its about 13 miles)
Has any one asked for this route ?

But other than that, i would prefer GEML with the Elizabeth line and Greater anglia, where the 321/322 used to run. and someone has supposably seen a picture of one being made and a tiny coincidence that c2c occasionally run a service to liverpool st.

Good route choice IMO, but remains to be seen how good DTG will get the urban scenery to look. I fear more generic poorly detailed square boxes masquerading as buildings, but we'll see!

In all honesty I find it nothing to get excited about as it is just another modern electric commuter route at the end of the day, though the Aventra model itself may be a useful one to have in game. I think it will be unlikely I buy it, as EMU commuter driving has been done to death in TSW and it is no more exciting than it looks in real life! In the roadmap thread there were mentions of 150s and 172s running on it and I think even just going back to then may have swayed me to buy it. At least it isn't another electrostar though!

I hope this route isn't £29.99 because the route is only 13 miles, but glad we are getting the class 710.

It’s a bit on the short side but guess there is an outside chance the teaser is just part of a larger whole, maybe the NLL from Stratford to Richmond or at least Willesden Jn for the freight.

Ultra modern not really my thing. 172 would have been nice, something earlier even better. Ironically, for a period in the late 80’s/early 90’s the service was worked by cut down 2 car Class 104 formations, based at OOC.

Nice though it is, if just Gospel Oak to Barking then this needs to be pitched at less than £25 and is borderline wait until sale time.

I like London communter routes... but once again a little short and will get old quickly. Should have done the whole North London Line like on TSC.

New train is always nice, however weary as it isn't a long route. End to end services can be done in roughly 40 mins according to RTT, and it's modern electric. A 172 would've been quite cool to have.

I'd hope for a 378, even as A.I., but that's probably asking for too much with today's standards. I also hope for new 66 liveries, but I'll hole my breath on it.

I'm hoping after Blackpools release DTG a thinking of uping the feature list going into future routes, announcements for one can clearly be done (been proven twice) so now it's time for DTG to have a go.

All I will say here is this...

Considering that the version of the 710 is the dual-voltage 710/2, can we please at some point have it add Overground services to the Bakerloo Line between Queen's Park & Harrow & Wealdstone? Probably unlikely right away, but that's a temptation too great to resist at some point, considering it also runs there in real life.

Looking forward to a new UK route but I hope they have a bit of a foliage refresh, getting a bit bored seeing identical trees on all routes, especially now we've been treated to a TSC foliage enhancement by AP. The routes are starting to feel a bit similar to each other, even though they are very well crafted.

I’ll echo what I said in the RM thread.

I think this route would have been much better suited in the 172 & 150 era.

We have so many electrified commuter routes in modern UK era now, after DTG talking about wanting to move away from that sort of thing for a little bit, it’s a shame to see it back again so soon.

I don’t think I’m reaching by saying that one of the more popular unpopular parts of SEHS is the Strood - Chatham section. This route is going to be 13 miles of that.

The upper hand of this route is that it’s quite urban, usually the UK stuff is more countryside, my one hope is that DTG pay attention to ambient lighting here, this could be a very pretty night drive.

The Class 66 returns once again - we really need a new loco for freight.

I really hope this route is done to a better standard than the German filler DLC we just got, hopefully this turns out more like an improved Glossop.

At 13 miles long im expecting serious quality here; attention to detail on the scenery, good ambient lighting, focus on night lighting - specifically on buildings (I don’t want to see another CCL situation), a new Class 66 livery, suspension to be implemented on the 710 & an exciting timetable to match.

if DTG are going to carry on with these short routes, the quality needs to take a big step up.

Goblin was quite popular on TSC afaik (although it did come with the North(?) London Line), albeit that was set with the 172/378.

This will be a filler route (along the lines of Glossop Line), no doubt. Although, back down to London, Aventra on a 'proper' urban commuter route.
I can only speak for myself here; but I am usually alright with the slower stop-start routes, but the only one I really dislike is the Chatham-Strood section on SEHS.
Personally it's because it's relatively fast running either side (especially if coming off of HS1), and then suddenly a slow crawl (comparatively) through the towns.

Might just be me, but I find that part most tedious because of that contrast.

I like the slow grind between Strood and Chatham. Makes a change considering most of the route is 70mph or above.

Worth noting that it's not just a little bit of freight here, there are loads of freight services running all day:

Realtime Trains | Departures from Blackhorse Road all day on 12/12/2023

Given there is a prominent Freightliner yard on this route, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that DTG have negotiated for the FL licence/new 66 livery.

My biggest hope for this route is that the urban scenery and night lighting has been done justice and we don't end up with another BCC situation with pitch black cityscape at night.

I do recall a few people asking for the GOBLIN Line over the years but I can't say I was expecting a modern day setting, not that I'm complaining because the route can still be set in a transition period maybe with a Class 172 DLC? Not overlooking the fact that London Overground 710's also share tracks with the Bakerloo Line which means we could finally get the Overground timetable with services from Queen's Park to Harrow & Wealdstone.

I do like the overground livery quite a bit, taking this is a full line (I have no clue about the places in real life) it seems pretty decent to pick up at some point.

I think with routes like this, when it’s a full line everything is all good, small sections of what seems a bit of a basic line is where the problems tend to arise more, especially if it was a small section.

Everyone asking for new 66 liveries has to remember. Licences not with standing, almost all FOC 66s have different cab end details regarding light clusters and lug layouts from each other. It's not just a livery change.

Even the swing arm knuckle coupler is unique to the EWS DBS 66s.

    Urban setting

    New train

    Full-line

    Lots of freight opportunties

All comes down to pricing for me on this one. Like the train, like an end to end route, but it’s quite short so if pricing reflects that I may pick it up.

If it adds services to the Bakerloo Line, I would defintly pick it up. Also it´s a full line and has freight opportunites. So it´s definitely not the worst choice..

So it looks as if it really is just the 13 mile route.

If it's done well then as I said might be worth a sale shot, but getting the vibe this is another filler project like Glossop, while something more significant is being brewed in the background.

I think the Barking Riverside extension puts a huge dent in any transition era DLC's chances.

It might be short but I do like end to end "self contained" routes and this was always a favourite route on TSC so quite looking forward to it. Would have preferred it pre-electrification but quite happy with it being very up to date.
