This is probably need a big deal for every player, but I for one like achieving platinums when completing a timetable service, and I like being rewarded for it. A question for the devs. Could platinum medal functionality be added to older routes in the near future?
The new scoring system isn't too bad (I particularly like the individual scoring breakdown) but unfortunately it's a bit pointless at the minute. Remember the olden days of TSW2 when it was actually harder to get a bronze medal than it was a gold? Well, now it's harder to get ANY medal other than a platinum one.
It requires the scoring system in the timetable being swapped over, and the scores being checked. It's nowhere near as big a job as swapping the route over to TSW4 standards. I just don't think it really adds much, as Platinum's are just as easy to earn as golds were in TSW3. You still don't need to use safety systems, or even to use the lights/wipers.
Not true. Just do a start stop service and use the new functionality of not stopping at stations and just continue to the last one. You'll be lucky if you get bronze. But seriously, the new system works great on German routes where the game actually knows if you used a safety system (PZB) or not. On British routes it seems to me it doesn't care if AWS is on or not.
