Anyone getting a random SPAD in the Budds to the Big Apple scenario? After leaving the Botanical Garden station and passing the blocked train, the scenario always ends with passing a red signal even though I have a clear signal. Any way I can complete the scenario? Image:
Funnily enough I just completed this scenario yesterday evening with no issues. So if it is a bug, got to be a random one. On my playthrough did note what I assumed to be the failed train was actually moving.
I think you meant to say truckin game but this here forum is for the train game not the truckin game Unless you really did mean what you said in which case, still wrong forum
Before you uninstall try to drive a little bit slower first IIRC I was downgraded properly (L-M-R) so there is a red signal you can SPAD. It cleared for me obviously
Thanks, I tried this but no luck, even after re-installing the game. I get SPAD clearly on a green signal. Recorded video clip of the issue:
Hi, I systematically hit this bug on this scenario too. The first time was at least a couple of weeks ago, and I've hit it again today (I'd forgotten all about it). I find that the SPAD happens regardless of the position of my train on the map (at least after I've departed from Botanical Gardens), it is triggered at precisely 7:31:20. I can remain stopped right outside of Botanical Gardens, or I can blast on the tracks at over 100 mph with ATC turned off and reach the bridge right before 125th street, something will systematically trigger a SPAD at 7:31:20 (or sometimes 7:31:19). Edit: Tried launching the scenario but doing absolutely nothing, leaving the train at its initial spawn point (Crestwood station) without even its master key inserted: no SPAD occurred; I left the scenario running until 7:46:00.
Thanks for confirming the issue. You're right about the timing, I sat at Botanical Gardens doing nothing and SPAD still occured around that time. I've given up trying to pass that scenario.
Thanks for raising the issue. Could be the failed train or another train? Have you made a ticket on this? Up top on right side is a support link. Are you on PC? Spirit of Steam had this problem as well. Signaling is very complicated and I think the despatcher is not as sophisticated/developed as the old Train Sim Classic yet. I think DTG are working on it, or will do soon. I hope. But I think it's about managing priorities too. Do we want a state of the art despatch, but no new routes for 2 years? I think they manage priorities quite well. Just my comments here. Good work on the video!! TICK mark
Everyone meets SPAD's time is different. For me.it is about 7:32:20.But I find we meet SPAD at the almost same location.
I've reported this as well as it happened last week. Ticket closed with "Someone will look into it". Fingers crossed they get to it soon!
I've been getting the same SPAD when launching the service from the Scenario mode. Then I launched the service from the Journey mode (Retro Metro) and completed it with no probs at all.
I was finally able to clear this one in scenario mode. The only thing I did different this time was to not wait after load passengers was complete on each station.
This must be a random bug. I completed this scenario in TSW3 a few months ago and TSW4 sometime back in October without any issue
I was stuck with the same problem, but I was able to clear it by using phantom_signal's method. Thank you. Short time stop is a good way to complete this scenario.
This workaround worked for me too! Thanks so much phantom_signal, I really commend your dedication to find something like this. I have to say I was skeptical at first, so I ran the service again, leaving stations at proper times, and sure enough I hit the SPAD out of nowhere again.
Yeah, it was suprising to me as well! DTG should really fix critical issues like these, it ruins the gameplay.
Had the same issue as you all so it's still happening. PC version from Xbox store. Sharing how I got through in case it provides any clues for DTG: I had used the save function on the bugged version and reloaded it half way through so wondering if the save system may have had something to do with it I ran it again from a fresh start. 2nd try, started over from the journey menu. This time, played the whole through thing in one go. Kept to the timeline table pretty well (departing within a minute of expected time each stop), followed all ATC speeds and did load all passenger at each station. Made it through and got the medal.
I have tried your method but still meet the Spad.I have this in journey mode and I will play in scenario mode again soon.
I'm getting this issue as well. Another example of a journey mode not possible to be completed in a DLC.
It's good to see their bug reporting system working as expected. It's only been 15 months since I reported it! I guess we just can't expect DTG to go back and do the job they should have done in the first place on old DLC. If they spent time fixing old bugs they couldn't possiblly have time to put new bugs in the shiny new DLC they release and then where would we be! Even if it's technically still for sale to unsuspecting customers, really they should be expected to read the forums before purchase to find out if they're content with the amount of bugs it contains. Seems fair right?
