Fantastic work as always. Love the pack as it is at the moment but all these extra variants are just brilliant.
that notch in the panel was never plated over and used for a more sophisticated instrumentation, train stats display screen or so?
I should have the pack sent over to ATS within the next week or so. The longer it takes, the more detail I'll be able to get in before publication.
Will be getting this pack....the first one did not cut it for me, only beeing applied to HST running on the Midland Mainline. This covers more stuff I like to drive.
Looking forward to it. One of the biggest reasons I avoid the HST at the moment is the cab is kinda junk, even with the AP enhancement. Very old school DTG and not up to the standards of some of the more newly released trains like the 800 series and 390. If we already have the 185 cab that you sell on ATS, will the MTU be included or will it be a separate purchase?
It's a free upgrade to existing owners of the pack, and I'm beavering away to try and get it done before Christmas Next two cabs are almost done, just numbers to add and little bits to tidy.
You're not getting my money until this upgrade is released Dunc.. Fun Fact: Nothing in TS has been getting any of my money these last few months since I've been playing FS22 and it's plethora of top quality free mods, not even the AP 142 and Veg pack has persuaded me to part with my hard earned yet, but this HST pack is definitely going to grease those PayPal wheels. Looking forward to it's full release mate.
This is really an amazing piece of work, you are are a true legend amongst our TS Community. Many thanks.
Could not agree more, I am the proud owner of every piece of DLC you have offered up for sale, and will continue to do so as long as you continue to provide us with these top rate upgrades / new units. Best Wishes
As soon as I saw this getting extended from the VP185 to the other modern HST variants, I took the plunge and I'm very glad I did. The cab looks great, especially the reflective surfaces which I expect is the ray-traced rendering that you did, and gives a far more life-like feel than you'd normally get from TSC. The other master stroke was including patches to enable either the MJW or James Ivell HST enhancements. I know it must have been a pain, but those particular enhancements are so commonly used by scenario creators that it's actually a massive bonus and the combination of AP packs, freeware enhancements and now your new cab has done amazing things to an ancient base model. Can't wait!
As I'm halfway through polishing and packing, here's a recap of the 11 variants: The Modern HST Cab Pack 1. East Midland Trains (VP185) 2. LNER, VTEC & East Coast (MTU) 3. Cross Country (MTU) 4. Midland Pullman 43055 (VP185) 5. Midland Pullman 43046 (VP185) 6. Grand Central (MTU) 7. First Great Western & GWR (MTU) 8. Scotrail (MTU) 9. East Coast 43272 (MTU) 10. East Coast 43274 (MTU) 11. Network Rail, New Measurement Train (MTU) Merry Christmas dudes
Very nice! Looking forward to it Have you considered adding NumEnter as a valid DVD key? That would be nice
So long as it's as well as, and not instead of.... Not everyone has a keyboard with a numpad. It's annoying when people use numpad keys for essential items. I do have a separate numpad, but it's a pain in the backside to keep using it. Why not just use E like most other rolling stock?
Couple of questions that have suddenly sprung to mind. Were these cabs fitted to their respective HSTs when the Valentas were replaced with the MTU and VP185 engines, or is it a bit more complicated than that? And, out of curiosity, how accurate is the representation that we have of the original cab?
Right, questions.. According to the HST Cab Enhancement page this is stated.. Looking at my Assets folder I have both installed, I'm guessing they were listed as requirements to scenarios I'd played so over the years I've ended up with both. So, questions, 1) What is the issue with having both, I can't honestly say I've noticed anything untoward. 2) If I uninstall both (yeah, thanks DTG for not packaging the kuju folders into .ap archives I've got more work to do now) and re-install the AP HST packs - which one should I go for the MJW or the James Ivells one?
Also btw, I wish people would run their final draft of text past me first, typo's trigger my excellent English language skills innit.
1) As Duncan said, the MJW and James Ivell packs can conflict with each other resutling in things like nameplates and special liveries or other changes and additions to the loco's appearance not displaying correctly. They also have similar display names in the scenario editor so if you are creating a scenario, it's hard to be sure that you've chosen the variant you intended to use. 2) The MJW seems to be in more common usage as it is more comprehensive. Whilst the James Ivell patch is equally well-made, it doesn't cover the same range of variants. My way around this has been to make a backup of my Kuju folder with the AP HST EPs installed. Then install the MJW patch and make a separate backup of Kuju+AP+MJW. Then restore the Kuju+AP only folder and add the James Ivell patch and make a separate backup of that one. It's a bit clunky, but simple to then switch by simply deleting my Railworks/Kuju folder and replacing it with the appropriate backup (hope that makes sense! It's easier to do than explain...). The ATS Launcher lets you install your purchases as many times as you want, so I will simply follow the example above and add the new cab to each of my three Kuju variations.
I'm a bit confused. I've got the AP Class 43 Valenta and VP185 pack. I've seen an MTU pack mentioned, but can't find it on AP. Is it needed? Just wanna make sure before purchasing...
I see they'll release a new pack next year. Question is, will the lack of the withdrawn MTU pack affect the GST HST Cab? Or only scenarios (don't matter to me)? EDIT: I see, only the VP185 pack is required. Right-o!
I'm sure you'll get an answer off Duncan (hopefully a better one than I got for my questions at least)
I seem to recall in another thread, that this pack will form part of the new AP HST coming out next year, so if you don't already have the recently withdrawn MTU pack, then these cabs will form part of the new one. I'm sure Duncan will correct me if I've got my wires crossed there.
This pack requires the AP MTU EP, VP185 EP and LNER/VTEC ATS pack with the optional MJW 43 revamp pack to use it to its fullest. AP very kindly granted permission to integrate this pack with their upcoming MTU 2.0 pack. It's a beast of a pack and I honestly hope you guys get loads of enjoyment from it. I've really pulled out all the stops with this one. Sorry for the brief replies, I've just been absolutely consumed with building locos and phone systems lately. Will take a short breather once this is out though
