I would like to suggest a new DLC route for Train Sim World 4 - the birmingham line out of Paddington, starting at Leamington Spa and ending at Birmingham Snow Hill, a route of approimately 20 miles. This route's main two stations, Leamington Spa and Snow Hill, are comparable to the Spirit of Steam DLC in that it is one medium sized station and a larger one. If Dovetail Games were to consider this I believe it would be a good route that appeals to steam enthusiasts who aren't a big fan of late 50s/early 60s nationalised routes. I'm still personally suprised that their's still yet to be a route set in the 'Golden Age of Steam' given the large fanbase steam locomotives have. In addition to this there could also be a possibility for an DLC extension to Banbury and beyond. Trains Included 6000 King Class 4073 Castle Class (Possible inclusion of Streamlined Castles) 4900 Hall Class GWR 0-6-0 Pannier Tank # Rolling Stock Collet Composite Corridor Collet Non-Corridor Coach GWR Mail Coach Scenarios Royal Vist - The King is in town! Take the royal train down from Birmingham to Leamington. Night Mail - Take the Mail train at night. Race pass green signals and even reach 100mph! Winter Rescue - Rescue a suburban train trapped in the snow on the Hatton Bank.
If anyone think i have missed out any key elements or feel it might need something else please reply.
On the base route you would get mineral trucks, iron ore, coal. That kind of stuff. Maybe some cattle trains. The main engine that would pull these trains would be the Hall.
Included in the loco pack would be GWR 5101 Class 'Large Prairie', GWR 4300 Class 'Mogul' and the GWR 2251 Class 'Collet Goods'. The 'Mogul' would be included in the Banbury extension.
Future DLC - Extension to Banbury and GWR Class 4300 'Mogul' Banbury Station GWR Class 4300 'Mogul' The GWR Class 4300 more commonly as the 'Mogul' was a type of loco designed by George Churchward, Chief Mechanical Engineer of the GWR. Introduced in 1911 they were a mixed traffic loco, handling freight and passenger services. 342 were built of these with the last of these phased out in the 1960s. Several of these survived into preservation.
Future DLC - Streamlined Castles In the 1930s Chief Mechanical Engineer of the GWR Charles Collet made the decision to streamline some of their castles. The first of these to emerge was 'Manorbier Castle', who appeared in 1934. However the casing was ineffective and caused high costs and the decision to remove the casing was made. By 1958 all of the casing had been removed. The Loco No. 5005 'Manorbier Castle' Streamlined 1934
P.S. I have decided instead to move this to 1935 but I think as this is a very similar route (even today) anything in the mid 30s will be good.
I have suggested an extension with Mallard. But the uglinesses of them is the best thing, its amazing how the GWR could fail so incredibly.
