Why haven't I've seen this before... Derek Siddle (Kuju/RSDL/RSC/DTG) talks about his project of recreating the vanished Bishop Auckland triangle, which became an 8 year project and ended as the W&TN, still one of my all time TSC favourite routes.
Have you got the Third Rail Version off the workshop? It gives the route an interesting twist without changing very much apart from adding third rail.
I know simulation has a long tradition of allowing "what ifs" to be explored, but I have never understood why anyone would take the time to produce a route like this (the 3rd rail version).
The Electric Route is a clone of the Weardale route and does not work without it. And the Author envisaged Green EMUs would work the trains because of the old trains in the Newcastle area. It was just a case of adding Third Rail and changing the track properties to show electrification. The Suburban lines around Newcastle were electrified with the third rail system from 1904 When the old stock was replaced in 1955 BR used the same design as the Southern 2-EPB units https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyneside_Electrics#British_Railways I just ran more modern trains over the line
Derek's blog covers the whole route building progress, very interesting read. https://dereksiddle.blogspot.com/2008/09/welcome-to-start-of-my-wear-valley.html
