Coming soon - https://store.steampowered.com/app/2614000/TRAMCITY_HAKODATE/ The game is set on the "Hakodate City Tram" in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Players assume the role of a tram operator, transporting passengers to their destinations. Driveable Routes The full length of the Hakodate City Tram is 10.9 km, but the game only covers a portion of this. As of Novemver 2023, players can operate trams between Hakodate-Dock-Mae and Hakodate-Eki-Mae. Future extensions to the drivable routes are planned.
I definitely need to work in a few more trips to Sainsbury’s while they have Steam wallet cards! IIRC, Hakodate was one of the routes in the Densha de Go tram game, all those years ago. Wonder if this is graphics based or a video clip? Got to be better than Tram Sim Vienna though.
Ah yes thought I remembered the name, I enjoyed that Densha version. it’s graphic based, I have played an early trial version that was released as a test the other year, it’s got potential. Here is the website(in Japanese) - www.tramcity.net
Update from the author- Sorry for the delay in release! We are currently working on bug fixes and level adjustments. This section between Hakodate Station and Jujigai has many speed limits, traffic lights, and sections, and even I have a hard time driving it. Please give it a try when it is released. ※ I want to release it by the end of this year. We are currently fixing the UI and scoring. The key assignment display has been slightly updated. A new fast-forward function has been added while the vehicle is stopped. Please use it while waiting at traffic lights. By the way, we have already obtained permission to sell products from Hakodate City Tram. Please wait a little longer!
Looks like I will need to keep some Steam Wallet credit back for this. And full credit to the author for deciding to delay release until the bugs are sorted. DTG et al to take note, please!
Well the proposed release date for this appears to have come and gone. Probably not a bad thing as I just drained my Steam wallet with some last minute purchases for TSC!
Quick drive, trickier than you think. It is fairly basic both in terms of graphics and the sound needs a bit of requirement. Also needs a hot key to check outside if people are still boarding before you slam the doors on them! Not (yet) IMHO up to the level of Tramsim Vienna but hey ho, early access will cut them some slack.
Not had time to try yet but have seen this message- “Depending on the environment, the volume setting may be set to 0 at the first startup (bug) Please check the volume settings and adjust them as appropriate before driving. ※ Default is all 8”
Yes I saw that. To be honest Jason, after another play I refunded it... for now. There's just not much there at all, very rough around the edges and not expecting cutting edge graphics but in all honesty it looks like something from the late Amiga era. Should be aiming to look like SimRail or Railroader. Being kind, it really is at the early end of early access.
