Hello everybody, like GingerPitti I would like to start a diary for my home route from Verden an der Aller to Bremen. I can give you a short description of the route as well as a short overview of the train connections as a Wikipedia entry (English version of the entry). I've spent the last few weeks learning to lay tracks, learning about signals and the PZB magnets and dealing with speed limits and other things in the editor. Fortunately, there are several cab rides for the route, which makes building the signals and adding speed limits much easier. Unfortunately I couldn't find any public lidar data for this route, which means everything has to be done by hand. Unfortunately, the route will also run on a flat surface. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Cheers
Todays Mission was just LAYING TRACK and CREATING THE STATION Verden (Aller) and PLACING SOME SIGNALS So today started with laying some track. The Route Map looks like this in the moment. After finishing with the straight track, the juctions were on the row. After that, the Station and arround the station looks like this. (The junctions are the red marked things) The first signals got placed too The topview of the station right now is this: And thats all for today. See you guys soon.
Great stuff, I’m working on a Tyne Valley route and the thing I’m finding most difficult is getting my head around grass and vegetation. I’m sure it’s easy when you know how but I haven’t dared go there yet and still have a landscape of 1 metre squares.
To date I have built the entire route, i.e. the tracks, placed the signals with PZB magnets and placed platforms at the intended stations. To do: - Build train stations - Model BR 440 So far the map looks like this:
Todays Goal: Creating Landscape and Scenery I started with a little bit of Landscape and Scenery painting. I also started to do somethings at Bremen. As an example, I started by adding the Bremen main station from the Bremen-Oldenburg route to my route and a few other things that are known for Bremen. Once I've added some scenery I'll also do a little drive and show it here. I will continue to keep you updated
New Update (19.12.2023) I haven't built any more on the route yet, but I have made a small preview video for the route from Verden via Langwedel to Etelsen. The rest of the route is finished exactly as it is, but not included in the video.
Not the real train yet (which is the BR 440) but I started with the terrain and landscape. If someone knows a good tutorial to create an own train, ping me please!
You cannot extend existing routes, because they are "baked". DTG don't give away unbaked route data. Have you eliminated all these random bumps that can be seen? In reality the trains would derail at something like this.
