Maybe one for Rivett Games here, but using the existing class 150/2 and 158 models reskinned into Northern rail livery, the route would run from Wigan Wallgate to Southport and Headbolt Lane station meaning two branches are included. Additional new items can include the Binliner train using the existing dB/EWS class 66, so only new container wagons would be needed. The bin liner wagons can then layer on to the GWE route. The class 150/158 can later onto Glossop line and ECML routes too. Potential then for additional new unit in the form of the 156 (which would layer the same way the 150/158 does) which then allows for the class 156 to be repackaged for a ScotRail version too. May even be potential to extend the line to Manchester Victoria (either via Bolton or daisy hill - or maybe both). The basic two branches with the additional bin liner wagons would certainly be welcome and give plenty of variety for ai traffic on other routes so I'm sure would be a winner.
Anything to get the Kirkby branch line in, I'm all for it! 29 miles all in for both lines is pretty decent I'd say.
