Dear community, I finally wanted to buy the Niddertalbahn DLC and its prerequisite, TSW3, today. However, the (base!) TSW3 game suffers from the same persistent stuttering issues previous TSW titles, and TS Classic, did. FPS is fine (around 60 FPS) at low or medium settings, but every couple of seconds FPS drop dramatically, leading to visible stutter. No change in settings, reinstalling graphic drivers, or moving the game to my SSD, solves this issue. Specs: i5-9300H (2,4 GHz), GTX1650, 16 GB RAM, HDD (1TB) and SSD (256 GB) By now I am convinced this is an issue deep within the game, and not fixable without effort of the developers. But still, perhaps you, the community, can help me. With performance like this, there is no point spending money on DLC. Best, Underbird II
Since I upgraded to a laptop that can actually run TSW, I've never noticed any stutters. I cap my frames at 35fps because that is the lowest fps that looks like 60fps, because 30fps looks too choppy, and 60fps puts the GPU on 86 degrees. Do you get stuttering when capping frames to around 30-35 fps? I have heard that many people here suffer from stuttering too, and have put up multiple suggestions as to how to fix them, so perhaps the forum search tool could come in handy if you would rather not run at 35fps.
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately capping my FPS does not solve the issue, if anything the stutters become more noticeable. GPU temperatures are high (~ 80 °C), but not higher than in other games, which run fine (e. g. WRC 23 or ACC, both of which run on UE). I'll reread other threads, but from my previous reading, I found no solution which worked. Best, Underbird II
