I was having an Idea Of Testing a New Class 385 EMU On Northeast Corridor So That Way It Can Replace Older MBTA Diesel Trains From The Past Before. Does The Class 385 Pantograph Reach High To The Overhead Wires On This Route? Thank You.
If you have all the ingredients for your own idea why are you wanting other people to test it out, just do it yourself and you'll instantly get the answer you clearly are seeking......
Sorry about this, But I Haven’t Bought The DLC Yet. I will let you know when I already bought the dlc.
When I bought the Edinburgh To Glasgow DLC That comes with the train, I will test it Out On Boston Sprinter To see if it reaches The OHLE On The Route.
Good news and bad news for you. Good news: The pantograph reaches the OHLE. Bad news: Even though both the 385 and the regular trains from that route read as taking 25kV, there are more aspects to an electrical supply than just that and those on the Northeast Corridor aren't the same as those in the UK. So the train has no power and cannot be moved. The game also recognises this and won't allow you to set a free roam route. The takeaway from this is that while track gauge is pretty standardised, pretty much every country on the planet that has electric railways has their own choice of current. This is why the Vectron, which is cleared to run in 20+ countries, has four different pantographs and dozens of power settings on the computers. Half of France even runs on a DC current instead of AC which requires that two pantographs be raised to complete the circuit. So in short you can generally assume that no electric train will run on the grid of any country beyond that which it was built for Practically the only exception comes in the form of European HSTs, as the 403/406 have a variable power intake which allows them to run on the 25kV networks of much of Europe including that of France and even the UK.
T Thanks For The Info, But However Since There Is No MBTA Livery From Creators Club For The Class 385, I Will Have To Use The Test Livery Instead When I Bought The DLC. And Also, I’m Testing The Class 700 In MBTA Livery Along With The Class 385 In Scenario Planner. I Hope This Helps!
In scenario planner it will be fine since you can just enable Off The Rails mode, so the only thing to worry about is the pantograph reaching the cables. On the 385 at the very least, it does.
However, I bought the dlc, But the pantograph didn’t raise up When I was in scenario planner testing the Class 385 train. Could there be any fix for this?
