I dug into my X-mas stocking early and got myself a nice roundhouse of ALCo RS-3 locomotives from Diesel Workshop. I already have the WM and IC steam locomotives from Machine Rail, even at full price they present value for money. Though the early steam locomotives do look nice, I have no real desire in buying those. I am a bit confused and perhaps worried over the commissions, for in many cases you get a loco without a native route. I'd rather have a more complete roster of for instance PRR, WM, UP, SP, Santa Fe steam locomotives to actually run over routes we have in the game. Or B&M, NH, NYC locomotives for the New England route we have The (mid-)western routes can be backdated, perhaps at a small price, to the steam/Diesel transition era.
