Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Theme for this week: Freestyle It's the end of the year, I expect most people are with family or curled up somewhere. So for now just share your best, taking it easy. (Holiday vibes are very welcome.) Our rules: Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. You can enter up to 3 pictures, posted separately. You can delete and replace if you wish. TSC only shots allowed. 3rd party content, enhancement and artistic editing is welcome. Thread poster picks the podium and can't enter themselves. The decision is final. The winner chooses the new theme for next week and becomes its judge. We strongly discourage any negativity, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries close at Friday, December 29th EOD (midnight) and will be judged by me Saturday morning. If you would prefer Jan 5th due to the holiday, please include in your post. Thanks! Not a poll so that entrants decide. Only if everybody is fine with it and lacking entries (single digit). Hopefully freestyle helps it and this is all me being complicated. In the event of this week's winner not responding by 8pm Sunday, a new Freestyle thread will be created. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun! And grog. And gingerbread. Happy holidays!
It's nearing Christmas as Flying Scotsman hammers through New Barnet with the "Christmas White Rose" railtour for the York Christmas Market.
A cheeky homage to George's shot above - Flying Scotsman on 'The White Rose' passing New Barnet in 1960ish (also trying out AP's moderate snow which i hadn't used before) - I wish that lass would put a coat on - must be a Geordie!

Wow guys, this week turned out busy and with awesome submissions! To all non-regulars, welcome, hope you stay around! As such I'm acknowledging five, the practical limit. I would love to include further ones, maybe everyone, but... must... resist.... Note that I've resized the pictures so if you want to grab them, take from the originals! Px But before I do that, let me thank everyone for participating now and throughout the year. Including those few who are now on hiatus - might be lurking around. We have a nice little community here, helping, motivating, stimulating, inspiring each other. May it continue in the coming years! P5 - I'm a railfan obviously The combination of a slightly aged NS black (dark gray) and a yellow foliage always works out. You've grown a lot this year, including well deserved wins. P4 - mattdsoares Reflections of Devon would be the prettier choice, taking this for podium variety. This one feels quite real! The cross tree on the left is a nice homage to the genre's origins. And the funny one that's inside the house. P3 - PhÜnKî_Rø0sTā Loved all three of your submissions. I think this shot on the Corris Railway is the best. Technical praises aside, seeing the people in the coaches adds a bit of closeness to it. P2 - paulc Pretty assets and rendering aside, I really like how the train just pops in this one. Shadow play adds to it a lot. P1 - bellminsterboy Just love this view. It's another great example where quantity over quality wins - this panorama is only possible with 2D trees. Thanks again everyone for taking part. Wishing everyone a fun new year's eve (whether by shooting fireworks, champagne corks / plugs, or enjoying the solitude of the basement bunker with the dogs) and a happy, fruitful new year! bellminsterboy, the key is yours for next week's topic & judgement.
Wow, thank you, I really didn't expect this! Some very high quality shots this week (as always!). Thank you Triznya for running a great contest, and I'll post the next thread here shortly. Well done to all
Hi guys, next week's thread is now up! Went for something a bit different https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-week-53-week-1.77568/
