I was on the WSR the other day in service mode and the class 33 was bringing stock into Bishops Lydeard station from the Norton Fitzwarren direction, as it approached the platform it hooted its horn, it was very effective, so it appears to be in there somewhere. Would love to see more of it. Also guard whistles where applicable giving the right of way in stations. The graphics are lovely and the sim is immersive but we could just do with more atmosphere, which is often obtained by little touches.
Yeah Ed Fisk has been programming his locos to honk the horn as they start moving. Since he made the 37/5 and the 08 in Tees Valley Line we will probably be hearing some more horns from the AI in the new route. Now in the case of the 33 the horn is also sounded when the train gets within a certain distance of the player, but I think that was a bug, so that might not happen on the new route. Wait and see, I guess.
Only happened in scenarios with the 33. On the guard whistle addition. When the doors are shut following the loading of passengers. We get the alert sound that happens when we reach an objective. Just swap it for a whistle.
I was waiting for the first train of the day from Bishops Lydeard, the 33 was bringing it in from the Norton Fitzwarren direction presumably as empty coaching stock as it approached the platform. It was very effective, it was also a surprise as I hadn't heard it before and for a moment thought I was hearing things!
I spawned as a person around five minutes before. I had been expecting the Western as had checked the Western service mode services before hand, but the 33 appeared.
There a probably more warning board prompts visible in WSR than any other TSW DLC. (W) and (SW) signs at trackside. Id love to see a trigger set up for AI to follow this instruction.
I'd love to see this applied to American DLC. Trains in North America are expected to blow their horns in a specific pattern (long, long, short, long) before EVERY railroad (level) crossing, with a few exceptions in so-called "quiet zones." Such "hooting" would most definitely be realistic there.
