not really, usually when people get fired it doesn’t affect they’re games consoles or pc’s. aiming for realism is one of the main points of simulators.
I think this discussion should end here. A) it's getting weird. Weird in the sense that we are talking about the ability to use a toilet. B) clearly not listening that working toilets that you use is not essential.
I wasn’t asking on working toilets just whatever room and features to be on a train or perhaps also at stations to exist, no I ain’t fussed about going to a toilet, though similarly drinking and eating from the bar/restaurant cars and at the seat might have been quite an improvement to the passenger systems though still. I don’t think I would argue it as essential but something to be taken into account. I’ve said previously I don’t like a door what doesn’t open, especially if we are talking about modelled in detail trains, I would argue the same for guards compartments and engine room’s and corridors etc.
I was referring to Folup and his insistence that we should be able to use a toilet as per reality. I don't mind opening them, but using them the way I do in real life is just weird and not needed.
I understand, using toilets would be going too far and very uninteresting, kinda gets to the beyond level where the argument to model a foreign beach or something to go on your holiday for a break in the summer
That we don't want functioning toilets. Again, opening toilet doors is fine, but that's as far as it needs to go.
The point was a sarcastic remark to make the game Uber realistic to life, since one wants to simulate all aspects of life, including wierd stuff.
I'm going to be honest... This thread feels like it was made by a 6 year old on the playground with everyone else acting like one to an extent... constant bickering, ja? Back and forth to an extent... personally I say we just stop while we're ahead given the poster of this suggestion might aswell be classified as a troll.
I am a bit late to this parade, but I think that the idea has some substance to it but only on the side of having the loo door open. The whole idea of cleaning up the mess wouldn't happen as I know my TOC along with others wouldn't allow them to be represented look owt but brand spanking new. Also it is quite frankly disgusting the way the toilets end up especially on Friday and football nights and I am so glad I do not have to clean them, though I feel endlessly sorry for the poor cleaners who really do have to deal with a lot of undeserved crab.
I'd rather they included the Stadler Euro 9000 (https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/stadler-euro-9000.69977/) than a working toilet. I think most TSW players would much rather drive trains than go to the toilet !!!!
This, this and this. ^^^ Listen to these people. The point is, the thread is not going to change anything. Train toilets end up being disgusting. Licencing would get revoked if their trains were at all represented like that and tbh, nobody wants to see that anyway. And yes Saxon, give it a rest and stop making threads like this that start off as strange, little creepy but fine and then decends into idiocy and conflict. There's no point and it certainly won't boost your popularity in any way.
This forum is weird. Sometimes you have a great suggestion, well written, structured, interesting routes and loco, pictures, and it hardly has any reply or like. And then you have a two page long discussion because someone basically wrote "want toilet pls". And with that i'd say, don't... (just a whovian reference, if anyone wonders)
The only thing DTG to do is make it so we can open toliet doors. AI can't use them. We can just open the door and go inside. There are a lot better things to do in your life than arguing about toliet mechanics in a train simulator.
this is basically if DTG where to do anything about toliets (which I doubt they would), that would be all that was needed.
It would be vacant of me if I never engaged with this thread so this sentence is my contribution. Also, we are coming up to the Christmas break where the forum will get very weird, anarchic and even more sweary than it currently is.
Bearing in mind that the licensors tend to be against weathering, so all the exteriors are spotless, I have my doubts that realistic bathrooms are an option. And I have no doubt whatsoever that nobody at DTG is paid enough to even ask.
For someone who experienced MK1&2's in service, no one wants to see those toilets. I'll bog off now before this thread gets crapper...
Oh gawd yea. I've had to do all sorts to fix toilets on mk1's! Not a job you want to do or want to simulate doing.
Given that I've had to clean literal human waste on toilets before, it certainly is something I wouldn't enjoy.
Out of interest and seeing as this thread couldn't go further off the rails, have Bo'ness fitted tanks to their mk1s or is it still done the old fashioned way? Still not a nice job either way though!
I'm not entirely sure. All I know is we use a vacuum system and have to dump the waste somewhere on the tracks when we finish for the day. And waste gets stuck in It very easily. 3 times me and my TM have had to use bin bags and sticks to plum a toilet. As I said. Not a fun or good looking job you want simulated. (Cleaning the toilet I mean, actual guarding and stewarding is brilliant!)
Honeslty hyped for this feature to hit the game. One of the features which will get focus entertainment bought by apple and IBM
