Hello everyone, I currently own TSW 3 on Xbox and with that also on PC through the Microsoft store. Would that also be the case with TSW 4 and does everything transfer from 3 to 4 on both platforms? Is the draw distance in TSW 4 further away on any of those two platforms? I think my PC is more capable as my xbox series x, so I'd also like to know if there are some graphical improvements from 3 to 4 and between platforms? Is there anything else I need to know? I do know, that I am a bit late to the party and maybe I should just get the game, but I am afraid I would be disappointed for some reason, as I really like TSW 3. Also, please excuse me if there are some misspellings or misunderstandings, english isn't my first language. Thank you in advance.
Yes. Tsw3 does transfer to 4 and yes xbox works both xbox and pc version of xbox. I know another player who did that and it worked. 3 and 4 are basically the same graphics and same game. Only thing different is volumetric fog which drops a couple fps Draw distance isn't great on either. On pc, you can set it to ultra but on some routes, you still get pop in right in front of you or it focuses right in front of you. Xbox series is similar to high on pc. Compared to a last Gen, it's better, but if you compare it to other games which have further draw distance, it's not great. Regarding tsw4, is it something you think is worth it? Do the base routes interest you? Do you want to continue buying new content? Do you want the latest updates? You can wait for a sale or wait until more bundles appear so you can get the route you want. 3 and 4 are the same. Many bugs and issues that were present all the way back in 2 or 2020 are still present or brand new ones introduced
Thank you very much for your answer. I would be interested in the WSR remaster and blackpool. I really do enjoy the older UK based locomotives. Do you happen to know, if the engine. Ini tweaks are working with the Microsoft store version? If just read about that and it seems to be a cool fix for the low draw distance.
On PC, graphics can be improved, if not perfected, using .ini tweaks (or better yet, Foobian's outstanding God Mode mod). On console I'm afraid you're stuck.
I'm pretty sure it has an engine.ini file, and it can be edited (it's an inherent part of UE4). It's mods (.pak files) that don't seem to work with the MS version.
