Again thanks for the help/tips! I've made the livery and managed to get the colours right, maybe a bit too dark but it works and it's been uploaded - a weathered and clean variant! Yeah, I'm getting the hang of the handrails, I know how to do it anyway now, with thanks to you!
I never realised you made the euro 66, that's another livery of yours I have - I think I've got all your (real) 66 liveries! For the large logo 66 I'd say maybe make the blue a bit darker, and maybe add the little dirt speks like I did? As for the fade on the plough that's nothing a repaint couldn't fix - that's my little help to you I guess! ;)
Yeah, with the warning stickers I've just had to accept them the way they are, it's not the worst I suppose.
Anyways, I'm about to carry a few thousand tonnes in my 66 now, so I'm off too! Adiós! :)

Hi Buddy,,,your 66 colours are better and I’m glad to hear your getting the hang of the hand rails.
It’s looking good just a shame about them warnings labels,,I haven’t a clue why they look so blurry or couldn’t be sorted.
Yet saying that it still looks great and I think you’ve definitely found ya feet.

Cheers for downloading another livery of mine too. I did it a few months back from a different user I set up ages ago. I had 3 but if you place in TSLP in the search bar you’ll find all my work under TSLP. But sounds like you’ve done that already:)
It really means a lot and I hope they bring you enjoyment.

Also thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions on the 66. Your right about the lightness as I say I knew it was when I did it but I did it that way for the other markings to show really but wasn’t happy and also ran out of decals as it’s 1000 layer one.

Yet if I change a few things I might find the 6 or 7 decals needed to add some dirt or effects.
For again I am glad you commented and agreed there are issues. As a keen user of my work appreciate your feedback and will definitely make some improvements.

Right well I’d best be off for a quick brush up and then time to settle down for the New Year celebrations.

Glad your sorted mate and I wish you all the very best for 2024.
Don’t go drinking to many Shandy’s now;)

Yeah, I had to get rid of the dirt gradient on the side as It made a weird effect, it didn't fade out.. it just stopped. Yeah the stickers are a pain but I can't seem to do anything about them so I've just had to accept it.
Your liveries are amazing mate, if you want any suggestions - 66783 'The Flying Dustman' - I've made my own version but it's not very good.. so I thought you might want to do it! ;)
Glad to hear you're not taking me seeing the issues the wrong way, that's one thing I'm always a bit nervous about; pointing out a mistake someone's made, I'm always afraid they'll take it the wrong way...
Same for me, catch you sometime in the new year mate, and happy new year to you - hope 2024 is a gooden! ;) :)

(I'll try not to have too many hahahaha!!)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :D
As Rigsby said to me - you don't need to ask to share your creation, so go ahead!
(Sorry for answering something not addressed to me haha)

Hi my friend sorry it’s been a while,,,I’ve had such a massive hang over lol. (Just kidding I don’t drink that much).
I hope you had a great one:) Well here we are in a New Year so where to start.
I guess I start with the real reason I’ve stayed away a little is that Team DTG project unsettled me a little and tbh I has put me off using TSW4 or makling anything new with any passion. You could say I’ve given up.

So again I’d just like to apologise for my absence or not responding sooner.
But it’s a new year and all that I’m gonna place behind me and take as a life lesson.

So as you have mentioned about the 66783 and this weathering I’ll have a pop at doing this for you:)
You might have kicked me back into life here actually mate without you knowing it,,so thank you I think I needed a push.
Tbh with you I had given up before reading your comments but now some how it has kicked me up the arse. Amazing how things work out.

Like a little Angel sent from Heaven:).

And as always I appreciate you kind words about my work,,,I get nervous about taking compliments at times so that something I struggle with. It does mean a lot tho and I’m a pretty open guy so you don’t ever need to feel nervous saying anything to me.
The reason we have The Works Shed is so one can just relax be themselves and talk openly about work without any fear of any repercussions or nasty remarks especially from me.
Like I say I get very nervous and anxious at the best of times and again why I probably set all this up.
So please don’t get nervous when speak to me I’m just a simple human being nothing special mate.

So to you and anyone else that may read these comments I would just like to say chill relax and share your work where anyone can be interested or even pass comments that are seen as constructive or helpful even if they sound negative. Be open and be yourself.

Maybe 2024 can be the year for many changes for you and for all for the better I know I need this year to be a prosperous one.
And I wish you the same.

So yes as I say you don’t need to worry around me my friend I am open and pretty laid back even tho I can sound a little uptight at times.

I’m still a big kid at heart. I think it’s something many adults forget and so lose that innocence or open mindedness of the world around them.
The hostile world we life in makes one tough and aggressive we adults forget that we become this in time without even knowing it.

Hostile and defensive because it’s the world we live in.

I say this as you mention your age and in time you may see this for yourself,,but from my experience of life never grow old.

You don’t want grow up bitter like the rest.

Enjoy life and have fun. Be mad as a hatter lol.

    Catch you soon trainguy#6029.

Wishing you the best all the in 2024.

    Lee.

No need to apologise about not being here much, I haven't either to be honest.. I managed to dislocate my kneecap, an hour into the new year, so I've been doing a lot of nothing really. :/
What's this Team DTG thing, I've not heard of anything? No problem with 66783, it's one I've tried to make, but isn't the greatest and so I'm always on the lookout for another (better) one, and I thought your liveries are always great so why not ask for you to make one haha! I'm glad to hear I've given you a little push, just don't feel pressured to do this livery if you don't want to - I'd completely understand!
Yeah, this is a great place to be.. away from all the overreacting people that get annoyed because you like this train or that train, or because you don't like that train over there.. drives me up the wall when people are like that. :|
I like how I am now, so I'll try to stay like that.. and just change the things that are absolutely necessary.
Catch you soon, all the best! Cheers!! :)

Hi Matt,,,I would like firstly apologise to you for my late responses and also for locking up on messaging. I don’t know what’s got into me.
I think on my above remarks they may have answered a few yet I know I need to look up a few other post so I will answer in time.
I’d also like to say happy New Year to you may friend and I wish you a prosperous 2024. Like I say to trainguy#6029 you really don’t need to ask me for permission so of course you can post here as it would be an honour because I see you as a much respected member of the community. Also by posting on here we can all get involved in a open manner and make 2024 a great year for change and progress.
I guess I could say you should know me by now as I somewhat felt nervous in a open community in getting involved with others.
But I know I need too.
And so this little corner is that little safe heaven to be a little different and share work and projects where many with more insight or knowledge that could get involved. I myself I could do with that experience as I’d like to start a little class 43 or original classification of BR 253, 254, 255 livery.
A little screen shot here for you I wasn’t meant to be shown as I’d considered myself as finished because I’d lost all passion after that Team DTG project. I hope you don’t mind me speaking openly on that project in this manner as I know your got involved and you may feel I seen it all as negative. I don’t think it’s all down to the low subs but a mixture of both that and feeling let down tired and exhausted just totally deflated. All passion sadly gone.

Yet here is this test livery I was messing around with, maybe it could be something you may want to see progress to a highly detailed livery.
I think if I start again I want everything to be as accurate as possible and have a mixture or concept liveries along with real world liveries.
But getting that information is hard and so I’m finding it hard to get a foot hold. IMG_9258.jpeg IMG_9267.jpeg IMG_9273.jpeg
These are just test shots and me just messing around with a few ideas. I like to push for something different and try find a new design angle on the lines of the famous HST Power cars. But even that is hard without even coming across as copying.
I don’t want to do that,,,it’s cheating and not being honourable to the original curator. Yet as you can see here I am using a mix of original design logo and colours of LNER as it’s something I love doing in trying to give old or existing liveries a reboot with modern elements but remain conservative stick to a company’s design and respect them as one. With any of my work I try to make liveries work not look cheap or shabbily done as it’s a reflection of a company.

In fact and I just want to raise this as it’s a massive concern for me as I’d just recently and only discovered this when looking for information for my HST livery. There is a Hornby HST model with a design that my LNER 801 Silver Link livery is similar too.
I just never knew it existed at all and is a clear indication of my complete lack of knowledge when it come to certain things within the train world. Or poor marking research.

So to be honest with you here Matt I’m not sure what to do I feel I should take it down as I feel I’ve copied somebody else work. Or to even change the description on CC to at least give some form of nod to the original designer of the work. Because it has unsettled me along with the other issues affecting me moods.

Anyway I’ve rambled on as per so I’ll shut up and just say your welcome here anytime.

I’d love to see your work and projects here as we may stumble across an idea together as I am still aware and feel I somewhat ignored our previous attempts on assisting or working together on a joint project.

If possible I’d like to change that because you did come forward yet I let you down. I am so sorry for that Matt.

So with that you are welcome anytime and so are many other that are crazy enough to just be open have fun and share ideas without fear of judgement or any hostility remarks.

Because I consider myself as mad as a box of frogs but hey life’s to short to be in a black box too soon because we took life to seriously.

I know at time we all have to but hopefully this can be a place for those that just want to be open like big kids and get away from that nasty big bad world of being a grown up.

Catch you soon hopefully my friend.

    Lee.

Oh Dear I am gutted to here that mate,,,I guess you did have one too many a?.
No just kidding I hope it’s not giving you too much grief and I hope your up and running soon bud.
My son got his leg mangled under a car wheel about 3 months back and obviously still unable to do what normal kids do so I understand how frustrating it maybe for you mate. And I do wish you a speedy recovery.

Oh The Team DTG was something I done out of a previous complaint regarding lose of files and unavailability of TSW3 liveries and a few more but I don’t think I got around to bringing up some faulty product that are of today still not fixed. Because I was so frustrated about files etc. But I simply asked if I could do a TSW theme with something special which was a loco for four members and hopefully have a Xmas theme too.
So I asked for permission from Matt especially at DTG for the go headed really,,as there was a few hints of something that still no one has picked up on and is a to my knowledge is secret and one that I promised to keep. I think seeing where those two projects crossed was important as to know a clear line of what could be seen or done but that wasn’t there so had to try run with it on my own but in two or three different minds.

There is a The TEAM DTG Project thread available but here are the four out five liveries planned that was made.
    IMG_9033.jpeg Above: Xmas Edition. Released.
Below: Standard Edition. Not Released. IMG_9224.jpeg A few different designs had to be considered along with a few more at last minute.
But the main aim for this livery was to design a passenger livery for use in TSW as a fictional livery for TSW use as brand. Hence the use of UK Train Sim if those with the rights felt fit to re use this brand for other means. Ie slot into TSW.
This livery is for Matt and the Xmas one was joint Team DTG livery for all to enjoy over Xmas.
Then we have one for Alex at DTG. IMG_9152.jpeg
At this point I felt the livery had to be for the original owner or his own SD40 and also appeal to the wider CC. Plus distractions was a major issues as I was working on these right up to Christmas Day nearly.
Same for Cats too. Time was tight I was working on 3 DLCs I’d never worked on 395 SD40-2 and the Class 08 and at this point my head was up my arse. I’m still winding down now and again why I’ve not done much. But I like that Cat is creative and so wanted to add a little flair so this is why we have a little Dragon logo. A large Dragon design didn’t look right being on such a small body.
But I like it something cute and different. IMG_9201.jpeg IMG_9211.jpeg A thousand layers for this little shunter for Cat at DTG.
Then one I am gutted about and shamed to say but I’d hoped to get a little money this Xmas but what I did get I gave away. I needed to get the class 700 to do for Chris but I have no cash as I am still battling at even trying to leave the house never mind work again.
I had Covid you see and it me hard as the doctors said I’d had no immunity as this was some of the first mutations of the virus as it hit the UK. So proper knocked the stuffing out of me. But I was meant to do a Class 700 for Chris but I couldn’t afford too.
Plus I think all my passion died for the project and wanted to close it down and move on.
Please let me clear up that this was not sponsored or no members was directly involved and to be honest today seem no one wanted to be involved or was just not interested.

But like I say it’s the past.

And don’t worry about if I make one for you as seriously mate I think you did kick me up the arse and also you’ve now given me another reason to make it for you if your off. I needed that push because I’ve just been kicking me heals. So if you feel that way and wish you didn’t about your own work because it’s good stuff and you will get better in time as we have discussed then I will start straight away.

Just so I get the right class 66 for you as that thing has been re used more than recycled cardboard just let me know which version because of the different DLC and route compatibility as I’m not sure which one will work on what these days.
So please don’t worry I thank you for getting me started again,,,you’ve helped me out mate.
And it would be a great pleasure to make something you like and will enjoy.

I’d also like to say I’m glad you enjoy being here I do apologise if I go on bit but your are right in what you say and why I too wanted to get away from the mind games idiots jumping onto anything I tried to help others with.
IE dead post by users asking for help no comments. I offer help and then some are all over it like a rash.
If they was so bothered why not answer the poor soul before I did.
Proper got my back up and I thought I’d leave them all too it in ya boys club.
I don’t even like speaking like this but I did get my back up and to be honest I just laughed.

I like to try help those that in a sense have nothing to offer or by me using their popularity for my own gains.
I know you may consider my work as good stuff and I do really appreciate this yet I’m nothing special as I say and still struggle with the odd thing when making liveries I even look back and say damn they are shocking. Especially some class 47s with dirty layers on the front.
    Those lines show up. Arrrrrrrgh!.

I want to help those that do feel in some places can have that nasty vibe to it the ones like me that feel a little low in confidence want to get involved but doubt their own abilities or get nervous because of that vibe.

I know the ones that are sometimes forgotten or ignored are the some of the most beautiful and interesting people around.
Only because they don’t fit into society’s norms don’t mean there stupid far from it.
They see the world from a different perspective and if we only took notice and listened we would find this out.

At times and on here some get treated differently and you could say that’s wrong because of the damage it can do but those whom are different are special and special for a reason. Why be like every one else embrace that individuality gain strength and overcome the norms of society.

    Be you no matter what.
Hopefully you can be just that here and again it’s a pleasure hearing you enjoy being here.

Right well best be off but before I go I was wondering if you could help me out if you knew much about the Class 43 and rolling stock. I’m toying around with a few things and got about 16 Projects 7 liveries all in different states. So just seeing if I can get some advice on the HST before I get my act together.

So if you could help in away way then I would be very grateful to you.
In the mean time I’ll crack on with this livery for you and I wish you speedy recovery soon mate.

    All the best.

    Lee.

It's great to have you back Lee! Don't worry about the DTG projects thing, there are many liveries I have started and lost the passion for halfway through so totally understand. I am going to have to be brief because I have bust my knuckle so struggling to type at the minute! It's good to see you are well, and found something else to work on now, as you do make spectacular liveries, which I always look forward to down loading when you put them on Creators Club. That HST livery is looking great mate, I did suggest to someone who works in the offices we should do a livery like that before we lost our HSTs but they went with a heritage livery instead. That is looking great though and I think you have got it to shape around the HST nose beautifully and look forward to seeing it progress. I am still available to help you out with getting stuff done if you need it, just give me a ping,

Thanks to both yourself and trainguy#6029 for responding I'll share screenshots when I get home in about 1 and a half hours time.

Also what sort of information do you need to know about the HSTs because up until 2019, I signed them and so I spend a large portion of my time on them, so may be able to help you out there with info, especially if your doing an LNER livery.

Ouch, when I were just a young lad, 16 in fact, I dislocated my knee (and did other serious damage to my knee area/ankle) messing about on the farm and managed to end my chances of being a professional footballer, I had been signed to a 2nd division team a week prior but never played football for ten years and even then I could only play 45 minutes at semi pro level. On the plus side to that I wouldn't have got a job on the railway and now be doing (what I think is) the best job in the world.

Sorry that were really random but you saying that just evoked so many memories!

Also rigsby#3981 have you got a picture of the hornby model, I don't remember seeing one in any livery but standard Azuma (and 800104) or GWR green.

Ooh right, that's what this Team DTG is, a series of liveries dedicated to.. the team, over at DTG! So what's your issue with it, is it the fact you couldn't do this Class 700 livery, because if so - that's out of your control mate, if you don't have the money, you don't have the money. No need to be annoyed or disappointed with yourself, you can't really do much in that situation! - I'm really sorry if I've missed something here.)
With the HST, what kind of help do you need? The 66 to use would be best with the PBO (route with the 801, I always forget the name) as it's undercarriage is weathered but no RHTT controls are in the way, obviously it depends whether you want it weathered or not?
Im doing well with the leg, I can walk - I'm just not too confident with walking in general and I can't put much weight onto the leg, but it seems to be a pretty speedy recovery so far!
All the best, let me know what you want to know about the HST, and I'll be sure to reply asap! All the best mate!

I'm 15, so I did it a year before you!!
Damn, I can't imagine how annoying that must've been, especially since you were doing so well, thankfully I'm not good at any sports so I don't need to worry about not being able to play football or anything.. all I want to do is be a train driver!
What is this job you do then, something train related so I'll like whatever it is! I'm glad I evoked some memories, always good.. I just hope they weren't necessarily bad memories!

Yes, certainly weren't happy about it at the time, though like I say looking back now in many ways I am glad it happened. Good to see you are recovering quickly and it won't affect your every day life too much. A very good job to aim for, as (and here is the answer to your next question) I am a train driver and it is the best job in the world. Hope you do make it there mate.
Very good memories, those were the days!

Oh no way!? You're gonna get a thousand and one questions now mate - I'll keep it just to a few for now haha!
    1. What company do you work for, or at least what kind of train do you do; freight, railtour, passenger?
    2. What train(s) can you drive, and if there's more than one; what is your favourite train to drive?

Right - there's two of the questions out of the way! I really hope I get into it, any advice for getting in, in the first place? Thanks anyway!

Don't worry I have become accustomed to that after nearly two years on here! I don't want to take this thread too off topic but what you can do is set up a conversation (if you don't know how to do it let me know) which will mean that this thread can stay as the works shed topic.
I will answer these questions here for you though as best as I can/am allowed.
So I can't directly say which company I work for but it is an Intercity express passenger company. Currently I sign the 80xs and the 91s (this could help you work out the answer to your first question), my favourite of which to drive is probably the 91s.

Like I say I don't want to take this thread off topic, but ask as many questions as you like on the conversation thing and I will give you as many answers as I can!

I have no clue how to start a thread. You made it pretty easy to tell what company you work for, and I respect your choice of favourite train, I would love to have a 91 in TSW, hopefully in the future! I don't suppose you're allowed to say what area you cover?
That'll be my last question (what area you cover) - thanks for answering the questions! :)

If that's your last mate I'll just answer here.
I didn't make it easy to guess the company you just clearly inferred what I said very well! ;)

By area I cover I presume the routes, so that would be out of Kings Cross up to Newcastle and Leeds on the ECML and the I also sign the line from Newark to Lincoln, along with a couple of diversionary routes.

If you do have any more questions or want any advice though, just ask as I am more than happy to answer.

Oh awesome! If I was to get into the kind of driving I want to do, I'd probably have to be based from Crewe and go to whatever freight yards Colas have - I want to get into freight with Colas preferably!
Ah, so Newark is the only place in TSW (as of now) you actually know well in real life, that's really cool though!
As for advice - what kind of qualifications do I need, I know English and maths are required, C-A I believe, but if you could maybe tell me anything more about that I would really really appreciate it! ;)

I personally have never been interested in freight but I know plenty of drivers who have gone from passenger to freight and they really enjoy it. What I will say is colas is a smaller operation and so it may be better to start at a bigger FOC, like GBRF, DB or FL and then make your move there, or even start at a TOC on passenger work before moving over. Yes, that stretch of line from Peterborough to Doncaster is my bread and butter, my house is also along this section of line (and features in game) and I grew up along this section too, so I do know it very, very well. Certainly didn't need any HUD!
Yes, I believe it is just the basic passes (A*-C) for the English and Maths, though I think they use numbers these days but don't really know how that works, and then at my place I believe it is done as a level 3 apprenticeship and you get a level 2 ICT qualification as part of it or something like that. I think I am on the right lines with that comment, but it has been a while since I first started and things have changed quite drastically!
Something that may be good to do it look for a platform or onboard staff role at a TOC near you or a depot staff role (e.g shunter) when you're 18 as you can't be a driver until 21 and the experienced gained will go a long way. I think the important thing is just to take the chances when they leap out at you because like I say experience on the railway/in safety critical roles goes a long way when applying. I hope this helps you out a bit mate.

A GBRf driver once told me that a good way of getting into freight is to go with a passenger TOC, get some experience that way and then go on to freight, once you've got all the experience, I assume passenger is easier to get used to or easier to get into in general, I'm not too sure. Good point about the bigger TOCs, in terms of companies that go to/near my area, Colas and GBRf are the only two (not including DRS who only come down twice a year for nuclear waste). I do know a driver who began as a shunter at my local yard, and is now driving at the age of 22, so I might try and follow his path if possible.. my main issue is that I don't actually know how or where to apply, we should be getting careers advisors in school soon, but as of now (unless you by chance know) I have no clue where to even attempt to apply for a job. :/
Yeah, is that it in terms of that sort of thing? Just A*-C in Eng/Maths? I have absolutely no clue how these ICT things work, I have a friend who works for Careers Wales so I might ask him for some help with that.
Anyway, thanks so much for your help and advice, as I've said a lot of times - I really appreciate it! Might do some Google searching sometime today. Thanks again!
How detailed is your house in game, did you provide any pics - make it the most detailed house in TSW! :P

I think that is something a fair few freight drivers have done. I don't think easier is the right word but it can be more repetitive, for example this coming week I am going to be going to Leeds and back multiple times on the same stopping pattern, whereas freight has more variation to each run. I know a few people who work at GBRF and they seem happy enough with the company and I think they like to get younger people into the business as they can develop on them further and shape them to be best suited to the company. Yeah that's what my son did, start as a shunter before becoming a driver, at his TOC and he started driving at 23 so it does seem a very good path to go down. If you just search the company name and jobs (e.g. 'GBRF jobs') into google it should come up with a website with their jobs on it. I believe our website and on EMR's you can sign up for job alerts which sends you an E-mail every time there is a new vacancy in the company. Speaking to a careers advisor is a great idea though as they may know other people who will also be able to help you out.
Yep, just the English and Maths, I wouldn't worry about the ICT as if I can use the computer systems on the trains anyone can!

As I have said it is a pleasure to be able to help out mate, it can't hurt having a browse about the desired companies websites so having a google is a great idea. I must get some kip now!

In honesty although it is lineside my house is just a generic house model, but you can't complain I suppose!

Yeah, I'd rather get straight into freight (which is where the shunter idea would be good I'd imagine) but I've still got a few years to think about it, I'm 16 this year, so I do need to start thinking and sort of planning in a way... Yeah, I should be alright with English/maths, hopefully anyway!
I'll be sure to have a look for some websites now, thanks for your help and advice - again!
Ah cool, at least your house is there in the first place though, even if it is low quality! ;)

Fair enough mate, going in as a shunter, or groundstaff role or something like that would be along your lines. Plenty of time then mate, I suppose your looking at your GCSE's and then looking at what to do after they are done, so still plenty of time for you to think and plan something else. Like I have said mate it is a pleasure to help you out mate!

Haha, yes at least it is there! In fairness they have represented the village as a whole rather nicely so can't complain too much.

Hi my friend just a quick post for you but I’ll get back to you and everyone else soon. Been one of those days,,,had some upset with the missies ya see.
Catch you later tho. Gotta go but this livery has not got far to go until completion. This is a PBD one for the ECML with the 801. What a guess a?. IMG_9298.jpeg
Let me know about the logo and colour as this is a close representation but with a dirty layer over as I’m gonna weather it because it a prime candidate for it using a new weathering method.
    Hope that’s okay bud?.

Sorry to you and anyone else for short messages.
    Catch you all soon.

    Lee.

What the?! Wow, you did that quick, and it looks amazing even though you somehow have it basically completed barely a day after I requested it! (Unless I requested it earlier and managed to forget, that's something I do often do.)
It looks brilliant, the colours and logo/nameplate look amazing, and it's the correct 66 I recommended, this is amazing! Thank you so much, I can't wait to drive this around!!! :D :D

Hi Matt thanks again for the kind words it’s great to be back with you guys. And I am glad you enjoy my liveries I place out and I’m so great full to you and Trainguy#6029 for wanting to help out by offering assistance. I respect both of your knowledge and that’s what I’ve been looking for because I love my liveries and trains but don’t follow them as a full on enthusiast. So I couldn’t have dreamed of ever having someone with your knowledge and experience. Well you work and drive these things so that’s in self is proper cool. I Hope trainguy#6029 becomes one’s because looking back I think it would have been a job I wished I went for and it is such an ideal way to enjoy your passion whilst at work.
I hope you don’t mind me making this brief to but sounds like you guys have been in the wars so again I’ll try make this brief to if you busted your knuckles. I’m not gonna ask how ya did but sounds like you two have been Kung Foo Fighting:)

Just quickly tho my Girlfriend Dad when he was young was chosen for I think it was Everton squad or something but he had an accident on his Motorbike which knackered his leg up. Still to this day he gets a bit down when he thinks about what could have been.
I can’t imagine what it must be like for something like this to happens. I guess you could say it’s door to a dream suddenly closed,,,and then one has to find another dream to follow.

So moving on to what you say about signing is too me a dream and something I should honestly start looking at doing or even looking at working for DTG lol in doing liveries or something. I need to get a job and follow a passion.
I think I’ve mentioned it before as I know it’s a dying trade and would love to try keep it alive but hand sign painting.
It’s such an amazing skill,,,so would love to try may hand one day at it.

Okay I’ll get straight down to business because I’m not gonna pretend I know anything.
What I am looking for Matt and I can’t believe you have done this line of work I’m so thankful for this.
Basically I know that in the beginning HST was in sets with power cars using the same unit numbers but I believe this was hard for depots to manage and so different power cars was used on sets. So the TOPs classification of Class 43 was then used onwards.
Please correct me if I am wrong it’s just some information I’ve been trying to gain.
So what I am looking for is all the information that would have been seen on the PC,,and Rolling stock because I am trying to but all the small details that may not be seen from distance or even find any design drawings to work off.

I wish I could do what I used to do when doing coach drawings just go down and take close up pictures of every last detail.
I want that to be the same for a Class 43.
In fact if you want to would you like to get involved with this directly if you have wanted something like this done also.
Because I would love to see it up on CC because it would be my first after so long wanting this DLC.
My goal with this one was and is to make it be what be something that would be seen for real.
Because looking at a few designs so it doesn’t seem like I am copying is to force a new designs line yet as always fit in with the body design so it compliments it.

It something I noticed to in that the Heritage livery’s on the Class 43 are great but I wanted to mix it up a bit be modern yet classy.
With this LNER lettering is just for a quick look of where I was going with the design yet I am looking at doing it with hand sign like on the old steam locos.

So yes I’m going of on one again but basically I’d love to get some information on I guess you could say everything when it comes to identification and little sign markings that would be seen on the real deal.

Right well am I gonna cut this short now as I’m a little confused as it looks like a big grouped message.
So just want to come out and see where I am at.

    One sec:)
    Lee.

I’ll try get one for you now,,,,I’m not sure how to do it. So one sec,… upload_2024-1-8_12-10-12.png
Here you go, I never knew this existed until I started looking into Class 43 liveries and research.
I found out and gained inspiration when researching up on the A4 and the Silver Jubilee.
Four A4’s 2509 Silver Link. 2510 Quicksilver, 2511 Silver King, 2512 Silver Fox.
I didn’t even see any mention when looking around on model railway forums nether.
If I had seen it I would have been something I’d done first as a class 43 livery before even looking at class 43s.

Do you think it could be something Ideal to replicate for the community in this original guise.
Because as I say without knowing it I’ve done something similar or the same on the 801.

Hey,,,,yes that was The Team DTG Project in some form of a Nutshell lol.
It’s nothing really to do with money as such but the fact it was for the one member that helped so by not doing the Class 700 I feel I let them down.
I also feel I let the project down and myself in one way or another.
Just me and how I get with me silly moods.

And thank you for offering assistance on what I am looking for. Matt#4801 who ya speaking too is also looking at helping so thanks to you both on your assistance.
What is basically is getting all information for say the Powers Cars and Rolling stock so anything that may have been seen on a real PC or Car has all the correct information.
I know I could gain some of the models in game but I’d like some form of historical data for each PC and Rolling stock.
I’m looking at getting some old rail time tables of certain routes or car set ups so if I can re make that set with say four or five different companies or livers used.

You sound well into your trains and no doubt run rings around me for sure on that front.
I don’t have a clue about some stuff or just hard to get ya hands on the relevant information one needs.

As with all me work I try make them as accurate as possible but without that key background knowledge that say you and Matt have then it either leaves me stumped or slows down any progress.

So I’d like to thank you for your time mate on this as again it’s what I was hoping and looking for on here.
I might be good at some stuff but LOVE at something else. I’m not saying this applies here when I say this also but when I’ve seen people asking for liveries they have a great amount of knowledge but find it hard to make liveries.
But if two can share a common passion and make something work together then we all should get enjoyment out of it.

Like I say I am shockingly bad at some basic stuff so anything you can help me with would be appreciated bud.

I’m glad to hear ya getting there and I hope you don’t think I’m rude for not asking how ya did it. Just in case it was something embarrassing like slipping on a banana skin or something daft:)
And I just want to say sorry if I’m a little slow on responding I didn’t have notifications on as I find having any notifications on can stress me out.
I just check my feed on here every now and then,,,again as I get slightly nervous mate.

Just me being me so please my apology if I’m late on responding.

I’m glad I’ve got the right one I chosen it because I think it does look the best with the main frame weathered as it is.
Here’s a quick look at where am at as of today. IMG_9307.jpeg IMG_9306.jpeg I’ll be getting back on to it in a minute so hopefully it will be done for you later on. But as you can see a lot needs to be done still in regards to blending that weathering together.

    Catch ya soon.
    Lee.

Hi Matt these look well good I’d post them up if I was you. I mean you’ve done the work and they are different from each other so why not.
You never know if someone wants the whole fleet lol.
Now that would be a task an half.
I also like how you do your pictures as tho it’s seen from a safe place one would be in real life. I try do the same as no one ideally would not be stood on a main line waiting for that perfect shot.

So I’d post them mate they look cool and also using the DLC you are I know there is a shortage of good ones done using the increased decal limit. I say this as when we was taking about work and what to do. Then I’d say this would be a good start and see how they go as sometimes I feel certain liveries have been flooded like the class 47 has. Trying them out on a newer DLC and with those increased decals may make them more appealing tho.

I’m thinking of doing something similar or something with the Class 08. See how things pan out but I will be pressing with that Class 43 livery you like.
Again if it’s something you’d like to get involved with or even dictate the direction as you work with these things then it would be an honour to hear what you guys would have loved to seen if management only listened to the men that actually do the job and have done for years.
These days and no offence to any managers but from my experience managers these days are still wet behind the ears.

So please I’ll hand this to you and your fellow work mates and I will point the livery in any direction you wish.

Just quickly too and I feel stupid saying this but I’m just looking at the BR logo and it’s good but I’d say just have that top left tip more angled out away from the bottom out. Some of my early BR logos fall way short because of not understanding that much about the design of a simple but quite complex design when seen up close.
I’ve studied the BR logo a little and common mistake or misconception is the appearance. Its done in a way or set at a certain angle as to give an optical illusion.
Without that slight outward angle towards the top it can make them appear to small or fat. Or to fine and long when seen from an angle.

I hope I’m okay speaking openly and your free to comment on anything I’ve done or say. It was just something my eye kept picking up on so couldn’t help be pay attention to what my eye was saying didn’t look right.

But hey you should now me and it this is just my perception of what a BR Arrow logo should appear as and I know I’ve got many things wrong. But just knowing that little bit more about the design studies in a little more depth helped out later on. Especially when doing larger versions of the BR logo where that illusion has more of an effect if not done right.

Another note is reference to the weathering,,,we know it’s a pain in certain lighting yet this appears quite smooth and blended well.
So 10 out of 10 on that. You know I hate weathering these days and given up so always good to see that it can be done like in the case here.
It gives the whole loco a nice touch and appearance of a real world loco.

I’d bang them up mate if haven’t done already.

Hope to catch ya soon mate and I hope ya hands getting better.
    Lee.

Well as I said, there's not much you can do about that 700 - all you can/could do is explain to that employee that you couldn't do the livery because you don't have the Class 700. I wouldn't worry about it, just explain to the person the situation (if you haven't already) ;)
With the HST, I can help but won't be much of a help as I've not seen many HSTs much to my disappointment, to Matt is definitely better for that, I might be better with just 66s.....
783 is looking absolutely amazing so far mate, honestly thought it was ready to be up, but I suppose it's better that you're still working on it, incase there's any little errors/bugs I guess! Can't wait for the message saying "it's up!" ;) ;)
With the knee, I don't really remember what happened, according to my brother who was next to me, I fell and hit my knee on a doorframe, and must've hit it hard enough to shift it over. :|
Anyways, I'm off now.. to the doctor's for a check up - not for the knee funnily enough, for a bloods test, I have to have two a year, and I absolutely hate it. :/
    Speak soon!

Hi Matt just reading through the comments and it would be great to hear more wether it goes slightly topic or not. Yet obviously you are bound by limitations.
I find this all interesting myself and often thought about working on the railways. I did something along the lines of what you was explaining to trainguy#6029. Well applied to work for Virgin as a Platform attendant,,,I did get in but at the time I was a wild boy in a band and basically laughed at the thought of walking around in a virgin outfit.
Young and daft I was. I wish I did proper get into that. I did eventually get into working on coaches where say driving for a small firm then working up to say 22 when after at the time of 3 years uk driving you could work abroad.
So you could say in anything like these professions especially working with trains,,,starting young and getting that experience is so valuable.
Like in the old days of starting on a apprenticeship and then staying there your whole working life working up.
That fella I told you about started out the same until he got to management level for BR and then Rail Sector then DRS. Over 60 years experience.

So yes hope you don’t think I’m being rude but it just intrigues me and is interesting to read. It is also most certainly wise and valuable information for trainguy#6029.
Don’t worry if I think I begging to be a driver I’ll never be one,,,I was told that by that guy. You’ll never be a train driver because your mental.
    Nice a.

And it’s also great to see you helping a young lad out to follow his dreams.
    It’s proper good to see.
Well done and crack on Chaps.

Talking of cracking on I’ll piss off and finish this livery for trainguy#6029. He’s got me addicted again. Lol.

    Laters.

    Lee, (TSLP).

Hi Bud just quickly. What I do is have one or two liveries with many different logos and markings and nothing else.
I will copy one then delete all decals I don’t need and keeps ones I do in this case just the GBRf logo.
Then because it’s a simple livery to do just remake what’s needed from scratch.
This has been done from scratch except the GBRf. It’s better to manage over trying to re work a full livery done.
I used my first method of weathering first to see how it upsets or works with the orange colour before going any darker or what shade would work best.
You could say I’m trying to cut corners and save time as you no doubt are away for your livery to save I have to close the game down and re start again. I can lose 10 mins and spoil my flow by doing this.
You can also imagine how long it takes when working on other shades of paint especially the ones with reflective finish on new DLCs.
I have spent a full day messing around,,,time just flew so I try to avoid that because of the closing down of the game to see the changes.

A New game but with new bugs. Shame it does slow work down and spoil user experience. It took about 3 or four hours for it to be how you seen it first yesterday. By time it’s done I’d say I would have spent around 10 to 15 hours on it.
I was working on it last night for a few hours with me Barry Boons on.

I am so glad you enjoy what you’ve seen and for getting me back into making liveries again.
    Thank you so much.
    Me (TSLP).

You know, your method of using other ones you've made and just removing the unnecessary decals is actually a really good idea! That's what I did with my ex-EWS livery, I used the DB 66 I had already made, so I had the DB logos right, and then removed a lot of things and added a lot too!
That's something annoying with new games.. there's always new bugs with it!... :|
I'm glad I've got you back into the swing of livery-making, and I look forward to more updates on 66783! :D
You too, be safe and all the best!

It's great that you are able to find joy from doing the liveries, much of the information I have now I could have only dream of having 20, or even 10 years ago so there is always new stuff to learn: I mean if you had asked me to set up the PIS on a train 10 year ago I would have sat there scribbling on a piece of paper everywhere we stopped, whereas these days it's all on a computer! Both my recent knuckle and past knee where both very much down to my stupidity, the knuckle being me dropping a rather weighty hammer on my knuckle, and the knee, me deciding it were a good idea to climb on top of the old barn which were being torn down due to it being very frail. At the time it started off the worst year of my life because I thought I had essentially just ended any chance of me being successful in life and so I just let my life go down and down doing not so great things. Then about a year after it happened I found out I had manged to be successful, just in a slightly different way, when my at the time girlfriend, now mrs, came home with me to my house and she tells us she were having a baby, he were born a month later and since then I have tried not to look back and wouldn't change the way my life has panned out for anything.
Wow! I am so sorry, how I have managed to get talking about that but well I guess in some ways it just shows that because there is a bar of gold behind one door it doesn't mean there isn't a sack of diamonds behind the other. Honestly when I want to I can waffle on like nothing else!

I don't know where abouts in the country you are mate, but in all seriousness if you are interested in a railway job, just search into google the name of the companies close to you and jobs because there are a range of jobs, and you working on coaches in the past would be a good sign for them as it shows you likely have time management, customer interactions (if that's the role you want to go into), and safety awareness. Depending on the TOC they may even have part time roles if that is what you would prefer too. Now the idea of you working for DTG is also one I like the sound of, you could probably do that from home if you wanted!

Yes initially HSTs were designated as Diesel Electric Multiple Units and although the set numbers disappeared rather quickly on them, the unit numbers were still used in 'behind the scenes' documents long after as well as power car numbers. They were given the classifications of Class 253 (Initially having 2 power cars and 7 coaches, working on XC stuff and on the WR) and Class 254 (These initially being comprised of 2 power cars and 8 coaches, working the glorious ER and ScR). As you say keeping the right power cars to the right sets were, and I quote my father here, 'A sodding ache up the arse' so the set numbers were dropped from liveries by the ER fairly soon and the WR slightly later. The information on the power cars would be the 43xxx TOPs number and on the coaches it would be the appropriate TOPs number for the coaches. During their time there have been many reformations to them with our ones in the East ending up with nine coaches and the two power cars. If you would like the numbers for the coaches let me know which version of the HST you are using to make the livery on (MML or GWE).

Yes, I really do like the idea and look of this livery, the only things I think I should mention is that in real life it is unlikely the yellow would have gone above the orange line because as you display it gets weathered like nothing else, perhaps a black, or ox blood red would look nice there. The other thing is that there may have been a silver surround to the headlight bar, if you would like I can try and visualise this one tomorrow. Otherwise you have got this pretty much how I visualised it when I mentioned it back in 2019! I like the sound of making it look like it has been hand painted like kettles too showing that slight edge of heritage.

I hope this isn't too boring to read but I'll be back in a sec (or 10 minutes) too! :)

I think that both yourself and hornby have interpreted the design of the A4 onto your own canvases in your own ways and I don't think this one warrants being close enough to make it look like yours is copied.

Thanks mate, I have put them up and have been quite well received so far, better than I thought for quite a niche livery. I do find that when I goto do one livery I end up doing all the different variants, and seeing how this has been received I may well do this going on too. Thanks for the feedback on the Double arrow as they are much harder to do than they look, I have already made some adjustments which I think looks better, but as you say it depends on the arrow you look at it from.

With the screenshots I have just ended up doing that naturally and I guess you could say it is the style I have adopted accidentally on purpose! Glad you are a fan of it though mate!

Perhaps if you wanted you could do a parcels 08 to match with the 47s! :D I would certainly be in for any sort of combined project, give me a class and livery for it and I'll be more than happy!

Thanks for the feedback on the weathering too and am happy it does look alright, I feel that due to the short period of time the locos wore the liveries it only needed that light scattering but am glad it doesn't look half-arsed or owt. I'm just glad that the lines aren't too visible either.

Catch you soon mate, my hand is battered and bruised but better than it were as I wouldn't have been able to type as much as I have done yes!

Thanks mate, I do just always feel a bit guilty changing the topic of someone else's thread so glad you aren't too bothered by it and find it interesting. Like I said to trainguy I am more than happy to answer any questions you may or may not have, so ask away! Virgin! I am not allowed to comment here but perhaps it weren't the worst thing that happened to you not working for them...

Like I said above if you are interested the experience from being on the coaches will certainly go some way towards you getting a railway job, but obviously you must prioritise your own welfare first, but it is a great industry to be in. Yes, got my first railway job when I were 16 after that knee recovered and haven't left the industry since, so I have seen my fair share of change, drunks, delays and other things which come with the rails!

This certainly ain't the worst addiction you can have! :D:D;);)

Anyhow, I suppose I need to get through my other alerts and be looking at getting some kip ready for tomorrow.

    Speak soon mate!

Hello,,,Hope ya doing well today. Sorry about yesterday too just wanted to get this livery done and out for you.
So just getting back to a few things.
What you say I haven’t done to be fair so maybe I am at fault but the situation changed last night for when I went to work on the standard 395 the logos and ones that they have no permission to block as they don’t belong to them as. Tbh I don’t want to say much because it really has upset my moods mate. I wouldn’t mind but they haven’t even said anything to me the creator of the work.
So I’m not in the best of moods like.

Anyway yes working like what I have done with your class 66 is what I did when I can. I’ll make up a collection of decals and then use what I need. I wish they had a function where anything you make can be saved so it can be reused across all DLCS. It would avoid having to remake from DLC to DLC and help with standardisation.
You could say I could do a few standard liveries over and over but just change a few numbers.
But I believe that just floods the CC and like I say can but people off using CC like it did with my Son.

Thanks for offering to help with the HST too but don’t worry we might both learn a few new things then.
I think Matt has replied but not yet read them.
You could still help out with the 66 or anything else as I’m low on some background information.
Anything that you have seen around or is worthy of a remake for CC.

And ya accident sounds well painful,,,just goes to show you how easy just a simple knock or trip (fall) can damage something so easy.
Must have been a chunky door frame like.
When do you think you will be back to normal too. My Son is off ya see and have been for a while. He’s dying to get back up and running but he has a long way to go yet and it’s getting him down a little. So just asking as hopefully it’s not long for you.

Right we’ll best be off again. Hope the news was good from your visit yesterday and catch ya soon.

    Lee.

Hi Matt,,,Wow what can I say you’ve been very open there and your knowledge on HST is admirable. I’m so glad we can talk about trains and have a chin wag along the way:)

Shame we not in a Pub,,,(Well if ya can find any decent work man Pubs that is).
Reading what you say it’s sounds like you’ve been through the Mills too,,,in way I can relate to in one form manner.

Working bloke,,,working all hours and do the odd jobs that if done wrongly have a massive impact later on. But the immediate consequences have a deeper impact. But just when ya thinks it’s all over something or someone pops up.

I’m Glad that things changed for you. A new path dawns and as we get up and walk we find many doors all are opportunities to either be a success or a failure. These are still opportunities be good or bad to learn from what life has to offer. But we must get up and fight by walking that path.

Even in the dark days we find things out about who we really are. Some stay down but some get up fight their personal battles and life’s head on to be better and where they feel happy in life.

Someone special came into your life,,,like an angel to lift your spirit whom then gave life for you both to love and cherish until one no longer can on this earth.
I’m a little old fashioned when it comes to the man doing not what he wants but what he must for his family and when that can’t be done the wounds never heal,,they remain open when one feels there not doing what is right for a family.
You have obviously over come and look at what you do. I don’t want to sound personal but you have become someone and regardless of what life threw at you,,you still overcome and is something I’m sure you don’t need me to say but be proud of where you are.

So again don’t worry about waffling I’m glad we can even talk like this. Remind me to get some more Jam in:)

I think this is where I am in my life by just briefly explaining a few things whilst answering a few things about trains or jobs.

So from this end and I feel I need to write this for some reason.

When I was a kid I had a lot of domestic violence seen.
My mum and dad fighting etc. I’d be locked away screaming.
When my mum separated I think she took a lot out on me,,,always putting me down.
It effect my school life so was always bullied non stop.
Didn’t help I was into Planes and Ships and Steam Trains. I loved them and would draw and design all day to keep me away from all the kids outside.
Then this fella came into our life’s who worked and had done all his life on the railways.
I got into trains even more going to shows and even meeting up with Waterman a few times. He knew him form working on the railways with Waterman.
So eventually after having architect beaten out of me I wanted to do trains but even then he beat that out of me.

You’ll never be a train drive because you are mental and messed around at school to much.
I didn’t I just had learning difficulties but no one picked up on them.
As you can tell I still struggle today to mix and learn.
So after me meeting a girl on holiday in Scotland,,Tarbet. He took a coach to see here and that’s when I got into coaches.
I was still heavily invested in drawing so would go down to Barry Cooper Coaches,,,ride to Runcorn to Selwyns because they had the contract for National Express that would call into Warrington Bus station in the town centre.

I then found out about Shearings Coaches up at Appleton Thorn.
I’d have a field day watching all the coaches come in,,and one day after a morning interchange a lad come out and asked what was I doing.
I explained so she said I couldn’t wait where I was and would I like to come inside and watch the afternoon interchange.

She then started to fool around and ask why was a young lad not working. Again I explained and so she explained to me that she was looking for staff in the cafe there and if I was interested then speak to the Job centre as it was done through them.
The rest you could say was history.
I learnt so much about fleets and fleet management that they took me on to be planning assistance but most of the time it felt like I was doing everything I knew so much planned so much of the day to day operations of hundreds of coaches men and staff. Uk and abroad.

Sorry but I’m well waffling on so I’ll try cut to the chase.

Eventually,,,I left did other jobs and this is where all the long hard hours in the engineering world and driving long distances took its toll.
Done my back in moving 3 tons of steel. Yep that’s correct we weighed it all during a inspection as we worked with the aircraft industry along side Airbus. Done me knee in playing football with me son so was off for over a year with that while working for driving company then came back caught Covid went back then done my back in again health went down hill,,along with everything else and why I use TSW so much because it kept me going and gave me some form of being something doing what I love making liveries on something I wish I worked on.

I’m not far now from say places like Liverpool and have seen Jobs going all over but I have no confidence no more,,I’m 43 feel like Covid took the life out of me I worked my arse of for many companies to be just cast aside and now I feel I have nothing to offer.
I’ve even seen that DTG are taking on but again who am I. I’d love to apply or approach DTG for a job it would suit me fine.
My body you could say is knackered but my mind is still okay lol.

Because I need something to give me that sense of purpose and also stand up on my own two feet and support my family.
For I have not one penny to my name I couldn’t even give my little girl 20p.

It’s not a sob story but just the facts of life and so I do desperately need to do something soon.

I can’t keep sitting here all day making liveries thinking someone is going to come out of the wood work and say hey Lee your fantastic come work for us. Im living in a delusional world. That is never gonna happen the only way dreams come true is if you chase it.
But knowing all that I sit here and continue in hope and by doing something I feel is the only option. It’s been my passion all my life so why not do liveries as a profession.
It’s just years of being told I am nothing and having no confidence any more. Man I get nervous opening direct messages as your aware.

So I’ll cut these short so I can take stock as I have rambled on there. Please I know I might have give you my whole life story and I’m not looking for sympathy or owt so no need to feel you have to respond.
I think it’s just me unloading as I don’t have no one else around.

Please again expect my apology,,,I’m just gonna make a quick brew and then catch up on the HST information.
I’m so glad you find it interesting and willing to help.

    Catch ya in five.

    Lee.

Fair enough, it's fine.. the livery is AMAZING!! I've got a few more suggestions if you want/need any..? ;)
Speaking of your livery, I'm actually using it at the moment, I'm all set up and ready to go, just got to wait a few more minutes!
Really sorry to hear about you feeling down, if there's anything I can do, let me know. :)
It was pretty painful, it will take 3 weeks to fully heal, I did it on new year's day, so I'm on my second week, it's not too bad, still not 100% of course! Your son shouldn't be out of action for too long, I hope he gets better as soon as possible!
Anyway, I'm heading off, catch you later!! ;D

Hello again,,,sorry about before and don’t worry too as I understand about your hand mate.
I’ve been watching a lot of videos about the HST especially privatisation which operators took over what etc and the different liveries like say the Rothmans LOVE packet. When contacts failed and handed over to a different franchise like with GNER then National Express then East Coast took over I believe with government backing. So done a little bit of home work but still struggling a little.
Mainly because I hardly know much and it’s getting on my nerves because I would like to get all the correct formation numbers etc.

I don’t even know where to start with the power car number especially for TOPS as it duplicates on the End Power Car.
So maybe I’d have to try stick to a earlier classification of 253 so there are a full set but what numbers or identification markings for the coaches I wouldn’t have a clue.

I feel a little daft because it sound like I am asking you to make it lol but seeing as you like this livery would you like to class it. Would this make it easy if say you liked a certain Power Car. Again hearing what drives say about the HST in that they was lovely to drive as each one operated differently like the Old Steams Trains done. They had character.

For this was never planned and is just me playing around with ideas but hit a wall with set numbers and formations.
So maybe to get this ball rolling would it be easier for you to number as I wouldn’t know where to start.

I’m so happy you like it as of now it’s the only thing keeping me going with any determination.
You know I respect you highly and what you do as a profession.
And if there is anything I can do to help bring your vision to light after all the hours of running up and own the country with pride for within the company you work for and the machinery that kept you company all those time.
Let’s see if I/We can bring you back together again,,,now that some have sadly gone to the breakers or sent over seas.
I’ve seen some in Mexico and I believe some was destined for Nigeria.

I’ll also make some adjustments as you mentioned about the yellow and the silver around the lights. Both was done previously to what I shown you.

The Black was considered due to the amount of diesel fumes that stuck to the roof. Especially with the early Valenta engines before moving on a cleaner German built diesel. Minus that beautiful turbo whistle as it got going and flew by. Sounded so nice I think that’s why I like the class 68 it sounds beefy.

I also considered the silver or a design element leading from that cue.
But it looked like most designers have took that cue also.
So I was trying to do something original and stay away from the lights as a design cue and force something new but still stay in tune with keeping it corporate looking. Nothing to flashy. I’ll see if I can re design or introduce a new style to hand lettering. I’ll start that today and work from there.

I am also aware your struggle to type so I’m trying to keep to basic if I ever can.

So to wrap up if you want to chose and class this livery your free to do so and in the mean time I’ll crack on re working a new design from the lights and build in the black roof line. I may to keep it tho depending on the silver as when I covered the yellow previously it made the front look squat.

I’ll keep ya posted in the mean time. But hey I’ve said a lot today and I won’t take any offence if I don’t hear back.
I know ya struggling and I appreciate all that have done up to this point.

So with your other comments I’ll quickly respond. Plus my backs killing me sat writing like this. I need a comfy chair now I’m getting old lol.

Have a chill and I’ll catch you soon my friend.

    Lee.

It’s alright mate,,,You could say I do the same at times but without knowing yet I try to convey to anyone that comes here that it’s okay to be open as one feels because like I say I’m not gonna say owt or get involved with something that’s nothing to do we me.
We should know by now who is talking to who and respect those two members. So sorry if I did interfere but it was just to sort of say knock ya self out.

That’s just mad you starting at such a young age. I bet you have seen some stuff,,as like you say I myself have seen of what can be onboard. I just need to get my act together that’s all.

Playing TSW ain’t do me any real favours. I need a job not a hobby lol.

Well hope they was short enough and I shall not take anymore of your time mate.
Like I say have a chill and I’ll catch you soon.

Hope you don’t read this while driving lol.
Not a problem about the livery bud am glad your enjoying it just don’t scratch it:)
And mate I get a little down so again don’t worry I guess if we both can cheer each other up then knock your self out on what you may want to see. Like I say you know more than me so if there is anything I can make to help pass that last week or so then it would be a pleasure.

Plus your giving me things I’d never really approach but working on that 66 783 I found myself liking it more and more.
So yes just by you giving me some suggestions will lift me spirits a little.
Even tho I’ve have a lot of work and projects sat there waiting.

I’ve had the stuffing knocked out of me a little but this work for you and help from Matt is helping out.
I can’t show my appreciation enough.

    Right I’m off,,,look after it.
    And catch ya soon mate.

Well then, how about 66743 and 66746 (they both have the same liveries, and often go together on tours, which is why both would be nice, all you'd need to do is change the number by one number. Don't do both if you don't want to though) - they're fairly basic liveries, however they have a pretty complex logo on one side of the cab, and a fairly complex logo on the main sides, so that's something you could work on if you like?
I'm always happy to help you in this situation then, because I'm helping you get your mind off things.. and getting a fresh new livery in return haha! ;)
I've long finished my service by the way, don't worry!
    Catch you soon!

Hi Lee, yes like I say I like to share as much as I can especially when people are interested because I have been lucky enough to be in the position to pick up the information and so it feels right to share to those who ask. I do like a good chin wag! Yes a shame as this is very much the sort of chit chat you get in a lovely pub a few miles south of me in the village I were born in.

Yes there is always something going on but am just so thankful that I have the family and the job because without them I dread to think the path I would have taken, because I just completely lost all the composure I had and like I say did some rather dodgy things, though fighting life were certainly one of my best choices, even if it were completely accidental and again down to my own, shall we say, lack of awareness whilst with, as you say, my angel and both of us having traditional parents (I mean we were married just two weeks after they found out!). It were the birth of my son which really knocked me into the real world facing the facts that I needed to get higher up the ladder and since then a lot of things I have done have been for the mrs, him, his sister or these days the grandchildren and like I say I'd be nowhere without them.

That is awful to hear about your childhood and sounds like they were not ideal conditions to grow up in at all and is a shame that the breakdown of your parents relationship affected you in such a drastic way, I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like for you. I were speaking to someone else who is on these forums the other day and I just find it disgusting that people feel the need to mock others for having an interest in trains, planes, etc because although this were slightly there when I were at school no one particularly cared about what others though, apart from when it came down to football! The recognition of learning difficulties really were terrible, I remember one boy who just really struggled to read and write and the English teacher just assumed he was a 'stupid nuisance' and it were not rare for a ruler/pen/books etc to be thrown across the class at him by the teacher, looking back now it were clear he had dyslexia but it were just not picked up on.

I am glad you managed to find that chance in the world of coaches and that sounds like you had quite a good and responsible role, so good to hear you too managed to overcome the difficulties of younger years. 3 tonne of steel, that is just crazy, and then I suppose the idea of Swiss cheese chain of events slots into place with your knee, then COVID, and then your back still tripping things up for you. It is good you have found TSW though to occupy and hopefully inspire you to keep dreaming and then be able to be here on the forums which I know has done me know end of good over the nearly two years I have been here!

I know there is a lot more to it because as you say this is a wound which needs to heal but with your work history it seems you have got the experience any employer wants and could certainly compete for many, many jobs. Even if you put in a few applications just to see what you can get because, as Tesco say 'Every little helps' and if you feel like you want to go back to work that may be the thing which really helps you. Like I say though it is important to not only do what is best for your family but also yourself, because by helping yourself you are helping them.

No, I wouldn't even think this is a sob story for one second because I can feel the genuinity (I think that's a word) through the words you type and really understand what it is like to be down in the dumps, but at 43 you can still do follow any dream you want so don't feel disheartened or hopeless for one minute mate. I would imagine it is a right nightmare struggling with confidence like you do but perhaps send a couple of emails to DTG, TOCs or other employers you may be interested in. Even if nowt comes of it at least you can say you have explored that avenue.

Don't apologise mate, I know how great it can feel just being able to offload things, and I feel I too have gone a bit into my life story, but I do think it is important that we share these things instead of bottling them up. If you ever need to offload anything you know how to contact me, whether it be on here or on a private message, because I am always more than willing to listen, help and share!

catch you in about 15 at my typing speed right now! ;)
