On the 11th of August 1968, BR steam services halted as they were replaced by diesels and they proved better. I know we already have Liverpool Lime Street (SoS) and Manchester Victoria (NTP) but not a line between them. The last service was from Liverpool Lime Street-Stopped at Manchester Victoria-Carlisle-stopped at Manchester Victoria again and then back to Liverpool Lime Street. New Engine BR Standard 7 ‘Britannias’ ‘Oliver Cromwell’ last steam engine to be overhauled by BR and hauled the last BR steam Service Could layer onto SoS 2 Preserved ‘Britannia’ and ‘Oliver Cromwell’ 90-100 mph Route 33.4 miles Layers PFR Jubilee PFR 8F PFR 4F I chose the PFR version because they have overhead wires stickers on them NTP Class 45 NTP/BPO Class 47 NTP Class 40 TVL Class 31 NTP/TVL Class 101 NTP/BPO Mk2s Loco Pack LMS Black 5 15 Guinea special/IT57 Scenario Drive Black 5 ‘45110’ from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria with the ‘15 Guinea Special’ .Crowds flood the platforms and countryside. ‘Oliver Cromwell’ will take the train from Manchester Victoria. Later in the day you are responsible to drive the last leg and take over from ‘44781’. New BR Mk1s in BR blue Overhead wires at Liverpool Lime Street
This would be a great route and a way to expand the future regional possibilities of steam but brining the Bits which worked all over along other classes. Great suggestion.
