A route that long would take probably around 10 years, and that's before including the trains themselves.

I finally got TSW4 for ECML only. I play that about once a week, as most of my time is on TSW2 and TSW3; whichever Routes work the best in each of those. For example, London Commuter works slightly better in TSW3 because there are less Red Light issues.

Edit: A couple of hours per day.

That would be 15 hours / day (counting from TSW4 release: 21SEP to Wednesday 19OCT, when you've publish this post) - are you really playing TSW 15 hours daily? :o

    My PS5 tells me I've clocked 80 hours since sept 26, so I'm around 3 hours/day or 21 hr/wk

I'd love to know how some players are able to clock more than 2-3 hours a day playing TSW. Are you housebound, a student who doesn't attend classes, someone who doesn't do household chores, doesn't cook, eat or sleep or interact with parents, spouse or siblings? How do you do it?

Please, I'm serious ( and a little envious ). How do you do it?

More than an hour or two a day and my life would be in turmoil. :D

I shut myself in my bedroom any day when I'm not at work. Unless I have to clean the house or eat meals, or am at work, need to go to the shop etc.

2/3 hours a week of TSW3 i'll play, usually on a Monday night as it the only night i'm not doing something. May get a bit more in while the nights are getting longer.

It all depends on what I have to do that day. Some days I won’t play, others i’ll play 3-4 hours. I’m playing more on TSW4 than I did on 2 or 3 though. I hit 100 hours today including early access.

I just saw that I'm only 28 hours into tsw4!
I thought I would have more hours but no...
In fact, I still play TSC (yes the old one)
To date, I have 9283 hours on tsc after more than 12 years of playing and creating routes...
It's almost a full-time job, I fell seriously ill 12 years ago (heart attack) and no longer working I launched into train simulation with DTG on "railworks" and since all this time I have stayed a loyal customer.
I of course have all the tsw and certainly all the dlc of tsc and tsw (1-2-3-4-)...
Thanks to DTG for "giving" us a good game, although tsw4 is not as well optimized as its "brothers", it remains one of the best train games to date.

Probably more than I should honestly. Longest I've played in one session was about 8 or 9 hours on Dresden Riesa, back and fourth before I just fell asleep.:D

I usually play for about an hour or two a day, more or less depending how busy I am. Usually enough to do two shorter timetable services or one longer service. However, I’ve been playing a lot of Railroader since it came out and recently I’ve been getting back into ETS 2 too. So I’ve been spending a bit less time on TSW. I’m also kind of waiting for a new route to come out that I'm excited for so I can get back into it.

Look at your mood. If you're feeling better, play for a while. If you're not feeling good or not interested, play less for a while

My game time is around 230 hours roughly on PS5. I play and enjoy a lot of other games too, working my way through a back log of games I bought last year. Currently trying to get the platinum trophy on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor.
I play TSW about 3x a week now. When a new route gets released I tend to play a lot more until the hype wares off.

Not much recently... since TSW4 was announced, or sometime before that.
The routes native to the TSW4 package just don't get me excited.

I’m a recent convert from Classic Train Sim on the PC to TSW4 on the PS5.

Due to some serious health issues that have arisen I am presently unable to access the upstairs of our property and my study which contains the PC, and I am currently pretty much bedbound downstairs. I purchased a PS5 and PS Portal so I can still game, purchased TSW4 on a recommendation from a friend of mine in Denmark and have been thoroughly addicted to it since the Christmas period. Aesthetically and operationally using a PS controller its a fantastic sim, the only downside being as a confirmed British steam fan (with a soft spot for diesels 1960-1980s) the lack of steam control and the automatic fireman is rather disappointing. I am hoping Dovetail rectify this soon.

At present while I am incapacitated I’d estimate my hours per day to be around 4-5 consistently across the week, although having just spent a small fortune in the PS sale on both British diesels and 3 routes (GWR to Reading, West Somerset, Trans Pennines)
I am aiming to raise those numbers a little !

It varies greatly for me. It depends on how much I'm working, if I'm playing through any other games, etc. I'll sometimes go days or even entire weeks without playing the game (the latter especially if it's been a while since DLC has come out). At most I'll play for around 3 hours per day.

I think I've replied to this thread before but for me, it varies based on what's going on with life stuff. Job, family, friends, etc. Sometimes several times a week and sometimes not for a week or more.

488.2 hours as of 01/13/24 and I haven't been in TSW in 7 days.
    TSW1.png

And just for fun and comparison, here's TSC. 1,904.7 hours as of 01/13/24.

For me at the moment it has dropped to nil.

TSC, ETS2 and Snowrunner doing it for me and toying with rekindling Fallout 4 and Skyrim for something completely different.

I've been playing completely different games I picked up in a recent sale. Beat them all except one which unfortunately doesn't have great performance. Only have around 75 hours on tsw4 because of school, playing other games and having a short attention span driving trains lol. I switch between modern warfare 3 and tsw these days.

Not yet touched TSW this year as I am currently very disillusioned by the state of the game. The ill thought out route choices, questionable recent DLC quality, and the poor attitude DTG is showing to its customers in terms of support and ongoing unresolved issues. This has all been well documented in other threads, so I’ll just say 0 hours lol.

Just hit 140 hrs on TSW4. Picked up a load of the older DLCs in the PS sale and working through them. The odd bugs can be frustrating at times, but you can see the improvement in quality and looking forward to the new releases

I go through phases and switch back and forth between TSW and MSFS 2020. I usually get about 2 hours a day on whichever simulation I am into at the moment. Prior to Covid, I traveled about 7 months every year for my cyber-security consulting so had many evenings in a hotel where I would spend 3 to 4 hours on the computer which was spent on TSC and TSW. I do venture off to games like Baldur’s Gate, Diablo and the such but usually after a week or so circle back to one of the simulations.

So I recently turned back to playing, thank you to our wondeful livery creators where now I can use a Gp38 or sd40-2 with using HSC and SH locomotives with liveries. Im playing roughly 3 hours every two days when I have time. Im trying my best to work around all the free roam bugs there are.

I bought TSW 4 on Christmas Day and I have played 16.6 hours. I typically play 1 - 2 services at a time such as Brighton to London Victoria and then back again. Boredom sets in fairly quickly I find, but I do usually listen to a podcast or audiobook at the same time. I hope to see more routes that are local to me in the future such as the full-length line of Hastings to Charing Cross, but if that was on the cards, it would probably be a disappointing partial route like East Coastway.

My stats say I've played TSW4 for 7h 24m but that was accumulated over the first couple of days whilst grabbing a few of the easily reachable achievements and I haven't really bothered with it since. I've also played TSW3 (via gamepass) but again, that was purely for the achievements so I tend not to count those hours.

The 'biggie' for me though is TSW2 (currently 48 days and 2 hours), which I still play on a regular basis....but probably only around a couple of hours per week nowadays.

Given I presume you're replying to me, I would say it has absolutely nothing to do with mood.

TSW isn't the only game in my collection, nor is it my only interest.

It varies a lot for me, I tend to switch between TSC and TSW a lot. Like last summer I do not know why, I had a sudden urge to explore all my German content and learn all the systems which was really fun by the time I got to grasps with them. So then I'd average a couple hours per day on TSW!! Then other times TSC catches my attention, and I spend a few hours every few days. I was lucky last summer as it was a nice long holiday. Not the same as now. :(

Maybe get 45-hour a day if I’m lucky. Work life, and family life come first, then driving trains!
